DOA Beach Volleyball is more technical than Brawl
Doing what it takes to pull the win is the obvious difference between a casual player and a competitive one. That's the whole point of "play2win". If your friends NEVER got to the point where they went even with you, they obviously weren't good players. Dan, Rookie, Ninjalink, Wes and a large slew of other players always handed my ass straight to me the first number of times I played all of them but it didn't take long for me to start pulling games from them on far more than a fluke with a far worse character because the slight differences in my technical ability coupled with my reading added up. Bringing up that I hate regular brawl is kind of pointless because I'm doomed to see everything for its flaws, that unfortunately comes with the package when you're trying to get better. So I switch a codeset or 2, I lose strength in one main, and I gain strength in another. I get a larger more viable cast and voila, nothing about my actual gameplay changed. I'm sorry, you only prove the point moreso if your socalled hardcore gamers could never push it to the limit.
If anything I'd find it more insulting that your so called hardcore gamer friends are obviously not the case or that they don't consider playing with you a reason to get any better despite your curbstomping them on the regular.
Isn't that always the case? Doing whatever you want and just messing around has always been more fun, and once you actually take a game seriously it suddenly loses its entertainment factor.
For example, i had way more fun with FFXI when i was a newbie, and way more fun before i did endgame and started caring more about actually being a great player. Once that happened, the game quickly became a chore.
FFXI started getting boring as soon as I had to do anything.
If better players can't do it, your casual ass won't.
