Zombieland is an upcoming American post-apocalyptic, zombie comedy, written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and directed by Ruben Fleischer. The film will be distributed by Columbia Pictures and is scheduled to be released on October 9, 2009

I'm on the fence. Partially because I'm not a huge fan of Woody Harrelson. The other part is because I do not like Wernick because he churns out nothing but reality based garbage. The other two guys I've never heard of. Anytime I see a horror movie casting list filled with more than one or two hot girls, I always get the feeling that they are compensating for something. I have yet to be wrong about it when it comes to zombie movies. But I'm hoping it turns out well simply because it adds more exposure to zombie media in general. And with more zombie games on the horizon(Dead Rising 2, Dead Island) it does nothing except keep them in the horror movie spotlight. Like it or not, zombies are the new horror movies "It" girls.

Not that I'm aware of, but it's possible. My concern is it's a trailer comedy. Everything genuinely funny is already shown in the trailer.

I think Zombedy should be a new sub-genre. I mean SotD, Fido, this, Dead and Breakfast, and others.

Trailer was kinda funny but it doesn't look like it is trying to be purely funny like SotD it looks like it has a lot more action oriented moments in it. Might be a fun movie but I will reserve judgment until it comes out.

Looks good, ill see it, but Shaun of the Dead is one of my top 3 movies of all time, so I dont know how it will stack up.

I would have to say Dance of the Dead falls under the zomedy category. I mean high school kids fighting zombies on prom night? What's not funny about that?!

Boy Eats Girl was decent. Samantha Mumba has a fantastic body. Too bad her face looks like it was smushed in when she was two. Flight of the Living Dead was fairly amusing just because of how campy it was. Dance of the Dead is a low budget indie flick. It was really well done considering how low the budget was. And get this, the high school actors, were actually, gasp, high school kids. Not twenty somethings who look young. Soundtrack was good. The plot was good. Really violent. Just a good flick all around. One of the better zombie movies I've seen in recent years.

Romero really lost a lot of my Zombocalypse respect with his compassionate emo-twat Land of the Dead zombies.


This looks like a decent popcorn movie but not holding my breath, for a concept as easy as "Zombies!" a lot of movies don't do it right.

I think Romero felt the need to change the way his zombies where portrayed since 28 days later came out with charging zombies and rush the movies out and that was his first mistake. Although I guess you can point to Dawn of the dead and later in day of the dead as progression in terms of zombies.

In NoTLD they were portrayed as walking mindless zombies in DoTD they started referencing how they retained memories and in DoTD they had Bub lol. I guess it was only logical to conclude that he was gonna eventually end up with the steaming piles of shit that where LoTD and Diary of the dead much to my shagrin.
