    Ok how about:

You are never going to be able to stack enough INT to get to a point where you are meaningful resist rate (if at all).

Your argument is based on "If you get nuked with a full firaga III 50% of the time".

I have not meet a mob in the game that I am scared off, that I can resist 50% of the time.

From hours of meriting @ pudding camps I have never noticed them get resisted while casting on me. Sure they don't do big numbers, but that's because I have ~20INT more than them. And they are a lvl77-80... not an HNM.

If you are get agro from a Haunt while skilling up in the Kuftal Tunnel then sure, equip an INT ring and laugh as they get resisted, but it only works when the level correction is in your favour.

However, his depop timer resets every time he moves, so you just keep aggro pulling him. Unfortunately he regens to 100, but at least you don't lose your pop.
Except Prudence copies will despawn away from the spawn spot, as shown by the despawn strategy. Except Prudence is just a weird ass glitchy mob, so I really wouldn't go off anything it does.

No it's not. If Tiamat lands a full time spell on you 90% of the time then p=0.90 and if do the math I made earlier, you take on average 94.7%. If you add 20 INT to your stats, since you are well above 50% landing rate in this case, those 20 INT(=20 magic accuracy) will now reduce p from 90% to 70% (1 mac= 1% rate when exceeding the target's magic eva) and your average damage taken will now be 82.4%, so -13%, and that's not counting the direct damage reduction from those 20 INT which is far from being negligeable.

Eyeballing ftw. If you have info on level difference effect on magic evasion, post it.

Tiamat will be landing spells 95% of the time (capped), and I defy you to show me a parse that shows otherwise!

I have no proof of this, but I think it is safe to say.... Tiamat will be easily capped on m.acc against players so you stacking you INT wont have the effect you are describing. His fireballs will still land @ 95% land rate.

Again going back to the pudding camp for a nice simple example... The pudding casts burn on me and reduces my INT by 10 (so I am now only have a dINT of 10) and I still land 95% of my spells!

As with capped elemental merits and the weskit I am still capping magic accuracy against puddings despite my dINT being lower.

As for the level correction, it was shown one of the tests nuking elementals, going from EM to T elementals lead to a reduction in accuracy (I believe they used burn to match dINT so that it didn't skew the results), although it wasn't quantified (or at least to my knowledge).

i thought i'd heard of cheese hoarder losing aggro and depopping before anyone could even locate where he'd run off to. i know you can lose aggro on him as i did it before when znm were super new and nobody knew how to fight this thing. kited him on whm around the porters for something like 10 min till people got up and got their act together and he'd lose aggro constantly as i kited him. it's possible that they depop sooner at the spawn point (though i've never tested it) but i'm fairly confident in saying that mobs can and will depop due to inactivity away from their spawn point.

Around 20 if not a tad higher, on RDM my nukes that land for 500~ do 2%~, but it's in that ballpark.

    25k in that case.

Edit: You're too late Kaeko, someone already soloed that NM.

Look. Why do you imply in your post that I think that that firaga3's accuracy or fireball's accuracy is not capped ? Adding or substracting INT will work only if the difference (Tiamat's magic accuracy - player's magic evasion) is in the correct interval which allows you so see other rates than 5% and 95% assuming those are the caps. Last I checked, upping your magic evasion is easily done with barspells/gear. In my post I said "if" tiamat lands its spells 50%/95% of the time . If you up your magic eva up to the point that, say, it resists 80% of the time, stacking INT will have a much better benefit on magic damage taken or magic defense bonus. The extreme exemple would be when you get enough fire resist to resist 80% of the time (tiamat lands 20% of the time) and then adding 20 int will pretty much halve your magic damage taken (-10% landing rate).

what would be the point of stacking fire resists on tiamat if you cannot reduce its Land rate below 95%? once you stack enough fire resists ( = magic evasion ), his land rate will go well below 95%.

lol I may be getting whooshed, but Iriz Ima is like the easiest ZNM to solo; lots of people do so all the time. Not exactly anything to brag about.

Indeed, you are correct on both accounts.

regarding depop questions, monster will depop after 3 minutes of being unclaimed and dot does not effect this nor does spawn point.. the only reason to use dot is so that the monster does not regen during this period

It's equivalent Demon helmet +1 for pure damage. For magic accuracy, in the best scenario, it gives +4 while, still in the best scenario, DH+1 give +6. In the worst scenario it gives 3 mac while DH+1 also gives 3.

Well, I am using NQ AF1 head right now. Do you think this would be a decent nuking head piece until I get full Morrigan's?

Are there other alternatives? Not really interested in spending more money on my BLM when I can get other decent stuff for free. At least until I get full Morrigan's.

If you have a group to deal with that shit BC then yeah, that's the best you'll do until full Morri.

Actually if you don't have another job to dump your MKD hat on you can blow Ree's away with the INT+4/MAcc+2/MAB+2 option, for what it's worth.

I vaguely recall someone saying there was a parser that could track the durations of debuffs, if this is correct could someone let me know which parser it was and what settings were used?

I think anyone with a DoT spell can solo that NM lol

I'm just looking for targets in the 20,000HP ballpark.
