1:1 is kinda bunk imo, you need enough MP to cure yourself most of the way without dipping into whatever amount of max MP you idle in, with maybe some spare for a Haste/Refresh. Anything past that will probably be wasted when you swap back to your normal gear.
Howling Fist: Genbu's Kabuto or Maat's Cap?
I was sure that Cap would win, but a friend insisted on Kabuto. I know VIT has a higher mod (50%) than STR (20%), but I was sure that raising the FSTR would trump the VIT bonus.
Basically comes down to 8VIT vs 7STR.
Sorry if this has been asked before.
When does +attack help the most with WS's? (Namely, which?). For example, choosing between assault/triumph earring, or n.legs/haidate.
8vit:
WSC: (8 * 0.5 * 0.83) = +3(.32)
7str:
fSTR: +1.75
WSC: (7 * 0.2 * 0.83) = +0 (floor after each multiplication).
This is VERY rough though since WSC in particular depends on your STR and VIT before and "after". Could you give STR and VIT without either Maat's or Kabuto?
Multihits rely greatly on +Attack. Critical-based multihits rely on it less than non-critical based ones to the point where you should focus on DEX more (since a critical is just a huge attack bonus - may as well aim for that).
On Singlehits, attack does a decent amount if you are not capped already. On huge pdif multipliers such as those found in Tachi: Gekko, Viper Bite and Mandalic Stab, if your attack is not capped then adding attack can be huge (Tachi: Gekko is 2x attack so if you are not capped, Byrnie+1 is adding ~50 attack's worth).
This is largely an opinion issue. I don't normally deal with that WS but looking at it from a theoretical perspective, I would try to stack a lot of DEX (accuracy for multihit + critical hits are a twofold return). I know a lot of people prefer STR though... only slots this really comes up in are the ring(s), legs (Hachiryu vs Byakko's) and earrings to my knowledge though.
For Magic Bursting, Morrigan's Cuffs or Sorcerer's Gloves?
Sorcerer's. In the same way the percentual increase from even an NQ staff will beat a weapon with 10 MAB, AF2 will win for magic bursts. Static will beat moldavite for MB too.
What is the best hand piece outside of AF1+1 for a SAM penta thrust setup? Perhaps limited to NMs and fights done with 2-4 people, or even AH
edit: forgot to mention, I have haramaki, sune-ate, rajas and brutal to keep 5hit throughout WS, so there isn't a need for extra Store TP
for RNG ws:
Mirke (Ranged Attack +10, Enhanced Snapshot) vs. Osode vs. Skadi for body
and
Scout's Socks vs. Hachiyru vs. Skadi for feet
Keep in mind that I'll be getting the new helm with the ws accuracy +15, so I'm just looking in terms of pure damage output.
Osode for the body, Skadi/Hachiryu feet are pretty much even in terms of base D boost and RAcc iirc, though not sure on those two vs. the 10 RAtk.
Just got my DRK to 75 recently and I have a question about Guillotine setups. I see a lot of setups on BG using Heca Hands, why is that? AF+1 gloves seem the like better choice.
Most likely because they already had Hecatomb sitting around from other jobs.
I'd say
Hachiryu Kote > AF +1 > B kote >= N kote/Usu gote[depending on your acc] >= O kote. if you're uncapped acc N kote/Usu gote is best but if capped then att gloves.
Assuming drakebane and you hit +2 hits w/aurum on during it your fine though, for birds would be a problem though. Could macro Chiv Chain+euphoria ring[or white tathulm] for after getting feather tickle though.
