How many are in Toronto? Seems like there's 1 every couple buildings.
^ I'll allow it
Spoiler: show
We have 2 or 3 on campus.
From my house, there's one within walking distance but none within winter walking distance.
Winter walking distance isn't very far though.
Hrm.. We have about 30 of them showing up on Mapquest and our population is said to be around 125,000.
Odd, a co-worker sent out this today. It seems to contradict my original statement.
3- Moncton has the most Tim Hortons per capita in Canada
Despite having a population of just 64,128, the city of Moncton, New Brunswick, has a staggering 22 full-sized Tim Hortons franchises. That equates to 1 restaurant for every 2,915 residents. That’s a particularly eye-opening statistic when you consider that the ratio of Tim Hortons to Canadian citizens country-wide is a lofty 1 to 15,000. Then again, if you lived in a city as dull as Moncton, you’d need something to keep you awake too.
Moncton is pretty damn dull, unless you're big on nasty strip bars, gays, and french people.
Disclaimer: Nothing wrong with gays, there's just a particularly high concentration of openly gay individuals in Moncton. I don't know why.
Un-Disclaimer: I don't like french people.
Actually the guy's a douchebag. He's got his facts all fucked up for sure, my facts are actually more accurate.
That's some pretty bad generalization there![]()
I'm pretty sure Fredericton has one of the highest % per capita of homosexuals in North America, I've never really looked into that particular aspect of Moncton though.
Just note that he did say full sized Tim Hortons. There's tons of tim hortons out there that are drive-through only, or just a coffee/donut place. I know from my time spent in Toronto that at least 2/3 of the Tims you come across there aren't full sized.
The ones he references in Moncton are the ones that are standalone, have their own parking and are full service, 24 hour tims.
That's fine, but that's not what I'm having an issue with. The population of Moncton is nearly double the figure he states.
i appreciate canadians as a metro detroit resident (hometown)
windsor was really fun to go to when you were 19 and 20, being able to bar hop before 21 within an hours drive from home. and also the first and only strip club ive ever been to was there too and it wasn't such a pleasant experience, it was overrated. the shawarma places are fucking amazing though late night when you're drunk. wish i knew one around here.
Yeah he pulled that population figure off the wikipedia entry for Moncton. He grabbed the "City" population, which, iirc, does not include suburbia or the almalgamated towns surrounding moncton, nor does it include Dieppe(which, I believe, is included in the Moncton Metro Population, ~130,000).That's fine, but that's not what I'm having an issue with. The population of Moncton is nearly double the figure he states.
The use of that population isn't necessarily -wrong-, but it's only right if the Tim's location count was pulled using the same geographic spread. Although it is statistically misleading, because Moncton uptown has so much traffic, it justifies having enough locations to serve 2-3x their immediate population.
Riverview should also be included in the 130k. Those 3 municipalities(?) make up the Greater Moncton Area.
Not a huge deal either way I suppose.
