    PS2 Controller Adapter for PS3

Has anyone come across a flawless unit yet? I've been wanting one just so I can be a cheap-ass and have 4 controllers essentially by hooking up a couple DualShock3s, and a couple DualShock2s, but all I ever see in store are ones aimed at GH controllers, to which the reviews I read for are iffy.
(for example, one brand worked for the GH controller, but hammer-on/pull-offs didn't work, and another had the same issue, as well as no lefty-support, another general unit had no rumble support, which is a no-no for me)

I really don't know why Sony hasn't issued an official device yet. They got the USB memory-card ready for PS2 cards, why not one for controllers as well. ;/
(it's not like it'd dig into their DualShock3 sales at all given they're wired controllers)

You don't know why they haven't issued one yet?

£35 per controller, versus a one time £20 peripheral? It's just good practice not to release one and force everyone to pay extra!

Depends how they would do the peripheral. If it was one per PS2 controller, the price of an adapter plus the controller itself would be roughly the price of a DualShock3, so not much of a loss for Sony.

If it was more like a 'multitap' outlet converter, then maybe. Just sucks for those of us that play DDR and the like, since there's no official PS3 rendition of the series yet. I hate keeping the PS2 around for that and GH1/2.
(and potentially my Eye-Toy games, but I've yet to try those on my PS3 tbh, not sure if they'd work)

Haha I might have to give that a test later then. I'll report back with my findings.

How exactly would it work when there isn't a PS button to assign it to a controller port once you're in a PSX/PS2 game?

It basically assigns it the first controller spot available, if there's already 1 connected, then it assigns it to 2 and so on.
