Yeah, I guess it does stack. I never really took that into consideration before, although it's still probably a tough call.

I've always wanted to try meritting with a DNC, it looks like fun~
Not that I disagree with you entirely, but Super Jump says "Sup"
*edit* I'm an idiot; ignore this and mock me as you see fit. On that note, and out of curiosity, how would a Thas +1 change things? Can Drg still get the 6 hit with the 478 delay? If so, would that change things, as the extra damage, (marginally) lower delay, then favor Drg?
And to answer the question, yes, they could, and very easily.
And to change track a little...
In a truly ideal party situation, would Brd x 2 + Cor be better than Cor x 2 + Brd? If Cor x 2, Chaos and Corsair's roll seem givens. What are the other two? If you're using a Samurai roll, then the Samurai goes to a 4 hit with a Tomoe on a 10 or better (using Usu body, feet, Rajas, Brutal), but the Drg goes to a 5 hit on a 7 or better... with a Thal+1, with Aurum, Rajas, Brutal, and a white tathlum. And there's really no reason the Cor shouldn't always have at least a 7 in the end. Sam can raise their TP, but in so doing, they're sacrificing haste or acc, where the Drg isn't giving up I don't have the time to work out how often a 7 is more likely than a 10, but being able to work with a certainty over a chance seems more workable. Given that it seems Sam/War and Drg/Sam are arguably close, is there a Cor roll or a Brd song that is going to boost their WS by about 20% like Sam roll does for the Drg?
March/Min + Sam Roll + Chaos Roll + Corsair's Roll + what? Rogue's Roll or Fighter's Roll? Is there any way that Double Brd + Cor or Double Cor + Brd is going to really improve that for Sam by that much?
I finnaly got around to trying dnc in a merit pt, of course but everyone's "standerds" it's not optimal, but far as i remember we had 0 downtime, and dnc was the only healer, no problems as i remember, starting with no TP is indeed a problem, but that is exactly why i bought a couple of TP wings ,since that ussualy fixes the problem, NFR also helps a ton, it works well, but good luck convicing the spoiled DDs to let you PT with one.
If you can live without haste it it's acttualy a fun set up with dnc, but i think we couldn't find any healers. and DNC was a great substitute.
Yes, haste samba stacks with spell haste as well as hasso, only for attack speed however, not spells like Utsusemi for example.
What am I missing from this setup that you have: FFXIGEAR.com
It shows as 374 accuracy, you stand to gain 14 from full pole merits putting you at 388 accuracy. That's a ~85-90% hitrate average, since you need 407 for the highest level birds?
So looks like you have 2% less haste than what I'm suggesting, and 5-10% less hitrate, all for what, ~40-50 attack?
That accuracy is worse than the alternative of capped accuracy. And also, I do have full Usu, I'm not just bashing on it because I'm jealous or something. I don't see a sam capping accuracy with it, which is why I think you're better off doing a mixed set, eating sushi, and maximizing haste.
If they can keep their build (I dunno if they can and I'm too lazy to check), it will definitely help them, but I don't think it's enough to close the gap).
oh no worries, i know you werent bashing full usu. i hardly wore it myself even after i completed it lol. but i forgot you mentioned eating sushi.. ya. i spammed kabobs
i have never eaten sushi on a 2h job unless i was lvling it in the 50's or something lol. i guess i shouldve considered it back when i was playing ;
Your acc values are off, I don't even have love torque (PCA), and I'm getting 338 via ffxi calc and by hand
256 polearm = 200 + (.9 x 56) = 250.4~250 acc
92 dex = 92 x .75 = 69
+70 acc in gear
+10 hasso (and yes i only go tomoe sam to pts that can support my fulltime use of hasso)
250+69+70+10 = 399 acc
Which caps me on lv 81 colibri and puts me at 91% acc on lv 82 birds, which puts me at a 93% average. Kabobs make a VERY noticeable diff in petna dmg. Imo, enough to make up for -2% haste and 2% acc
I would really like to do extensive testing meriting on DNC now that I have a decent set of gear and merits for it.
But it's very "move the mountain to Mohammed". I've had some good results with it, but when you've got a better meriting job, it's just easier to seek on that.
i've had good results meriting with DNC, mmjsp north, dnc/nin drk/sam war/sam cor rdm brd. buffs were chaos/fighters and X2 march. (weren't concerned with cor roll, were testing setups it was my first real merit since finishing ares body and first time trying pizza). haste samba is sexy ~ it's a very under-rated job (i.e. it's not a parse topper so no one wants to give up a pt slot for it regardless of how it buffs). cleared the pit, ran out of everything except skoffins. i don't know that i'd want to try it with DNC as the only healer at mams. i was impressed with the performance, but it's not jesus. i like having a bit of backup for when i lag and third eye doesn't go off until after fang rush is done ><
i only had the current version of kparser, which is screwing up so i only have the first 6 mobs or so parsed, sorry. need to re-download the last version.
SAM/WAR
DRG/SAM
DRG/SAM
COR/NIN
BRD/NIN
RDM or WHM
Middle birds, taking top/mid/bottom, no wivres, sam chaos march march, 36k/hr
It does seem that BRD COR DNC should beat BRD COR (BRD or COR) for 3 buffer parties. 25 gear + 15 spell + 20 marches + 10 samba + 10 Hasso = 80% Haste. The last 10% from Samba gives a whopping 50% increase in damage.
With only 19% gear haste, it's 38%, with 19% gear and no Hasso, 28%. Still pretty nice.
Anyone have an idea of what /1024 the 80% cap is? Depending on that number, you might not even need capped gear haste to reach the overall haste cap. 256+150+96+122+102+100=826, or 80.6% (a bit less if your BRD doesn't have maxed V.March).
Just curious if anyone has tried a setup such as COR BRD DNC SAM DDx2 with the DNC main healing?
