the only issue is that if it looks too much like clothes (and not enough like a bathing suit) then it has the inverse effect of calling more attention to yourself than diverting it because people are gonna think you're going swimming with your clothes on. In a sense Day is right, even a halfway decent bathing suit will look good as long as you wear it with enough confidence.
