    Monitor Dead pixel policies

About to order another monitor, identical to the one I currently have that I purchased in may. This one, I was fortunate enough not to have a single dead pixel or anything, but I know for a fact that sooner or later my luck will run out, and im positive this next one will have some dead pixels lol.

Newegg return policy is 8dead, if ANY are dead I won't be able to put up with it... is there way of trying to fix dead pixels... OR, is there any way to create more dead pixels or an internal problem or malfunction so that they will accept the return, obviously things they wouldn't think are user done.

I've bought a ton of monitors and never had a dead pixel. I'm talking maybe 70+. I've only tested first hand about 50 of them tho. I think you hear about it a lot because of the number of sales, but I don't think it's all that common on an individual level.

I've sold hundreds of HDTV's and monitors, and only ever seen dead pixels where it's obvious we've knocked them around in the warehouse or theywere transported without the correct support. It's pretty damn uncommon, way less than some people make out. You'll probably be fine.

    Dead Pixels cannot be fixed.

    Stuck pixels can.

If the pixel is black or white, it's possibly stuck and can be fixed.

If it's constantly showing a color, then it's definitely dead and cannot be fixed.

If you get one, get a pixel flasher application and run it for a few hours and also you might try gently massaging the pixel.
