I don't think maia and leites would fight the same way. I think maia would try to pull guard rather than lazy takedown attempts if it didn't work and he is much better than leites on the ground which would be interesting because silva did get taken down for a brief while. I really really like Maia though so I would want to see the fight to see what happened, I'm not sure if I see him beating nate though.

Nate has become more of a killer in his last few fights, he is one of the people I think are underrated but I could be wrong.

Maybe if Hendo didn't get rocked in his first anderson fight I would be more excited since it would be possible that he could survive in the stand up but basically he loses on the feet, on his back if he gets swept and possibly even in andersons guard. I think the only way he wins is takedown to side control and baby hammerfists his was to get points.

Did you watch the Hendo/Silva fight? Hendo arguably won the first round then got submitted... there is a difference in getting "rocked" and being in the fight but losing to submission. The Count got rocked if you want to see what it looks like.

i think by rocked he meant the shot that dropped hendo and forced him to go for the single leg, which promptly lead to him getting choked out. i dont remember if it was a knee or a kick, but hendo did get rocked in the second round of that fight

I think Hendo looked a little better in the franklin fight and this fight since he came back from pride. I think he'll know what to train for for the silva rematch, plus he won't be coming in with the pressure of keeping the title after losing his LHW one to rampage after 5 grueling rounds not long before the silva fight.

What tyven said, it was a knee and probably some shots after it that rocked him.

This card turned out a lot better than I expected. Sexyama needs to work on his conditioning but it seems as if he may become the poster boy for UFC should they ever try to get back into Japan.

Bisping has always been a useless fighter in his weightclass and that just got exposed with ease by dan henderson. Glad to see Hendo can still knock people the fuck out with ease. Hopefully he continues aging gracefully like Couture.

GSP vs Alves was an amazing display of strategy on GSP's part. With his abilities along with Greg Jacksons coaching I feel he will be here for a long time, when I watch him fight it is as if i am seeing a piece of art in the making. The guy is a living legend. Alves put on a great show as well, it is a shame he hasn't become a complete fighter as of yet, but with hard work and dedication he could be the next GSP. The guy is talented as fuck.

Mir Vs Lesnar, wow, I was really impressed by the shape of frank mir. He seemed to be very comfortable standing up but when he got taken to the ground and hit in the face repeatedly I felt sincerely bad for him, I have not seen that level brutality in a long time. Last time I think was Hughes vs Penn when Matt was repeatedly punching BJ in the face while he had secured his arms. Getting hit and not being able to stop it must be horrifying. Brock did a great job in showcasing his abilities, I think if anyone has a chance to beat fedor it is him, good luck with that though.

As far as the after fight reaction, what can I say,the man knows how to play a heel.

UFC 100 fighters salaries: Lesnar and St-Pierre get top paydays in $1.8 million payroll
by MMAjunkie.com Staff on Jul 13, 2009 at 1:15 pm ET

UFC 100's two successful title defenders, heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and welterweight title-holder Georges St-Pierre, each earned event-high $400,000 paydays from the July 11 event.

MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) today requested and received the list of official disclosed salaries from Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer.

UFC 100, which took place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, had a total disclosed payroll of $1,790,000.

The payroll figure does not include a $400,000 that was awarded for "fight night" bonuses that were handed out after the event. Each award winner received a record $100,000.

UFC 100, the UFC's heavily promoted and long-awaited milestone event, drew a soldout crowd estimated at 11,000 and – assuming the preliminary figures hold up – the second-largest gate in UFC history with $5.1 million in ticket sales.

A few disclaimers regarding the salaries can be found below. However, it's also worth noting that fighters such as Lesnar and St. Pierre also earn a portion of the pay-per-view revenue. In fact, Lesnar reportedly will make approximately $3 million from the fight even before the majority of his sponsorship money is tallied.

The full payouts for the event included:

Jon Fitch: $90,000 (includes $45,000 win bonus)
    def. Paulo Thiago: $8,000

Brock Lesnar: $400,000 (no win bonus)
    def. Frank Mir: $45,000

    Georges St-Pierre: $400,000 ($200,000 win bonus)
    def. Thiago Alves: $60,000

Dan Henderson: $250,00 ($150,000 win bonus)
def. Michael Bisping: $150,000 (WTF IS THAT SHIT?!) I hope that was for doing the show too.

Yoshihiro Akiyama: $60,000 ($20,000 win bonus)
    def. Alan Belcher: $19,000

Mark Coleman: $100,000 ($50,000 win bonus)
    def. Stephan Bonnar: $25,000

Jim Miller: $22,000 ($11,000 win bonus)
    def. Mac Danzig: $20,000

Jon Jones: $18,000 ($9000 win bonus)
    def. Jake O'Brien: $13,000

Dong Hyun Kim: $58,000 ($29,000 win bonus)
    def. T.J. Grant: $5,000

Tom Lawlor: $16,000 ($8,000 win bonus)
    def. C.B. Dollway: $14,000

Shannon Gugerty: $10,000 ($5,000 win bonus)
    def. Matt Grice: $7,000

Now, the usual disclaimer: The figures do not include deductions for items such as insurance, licenses and taxes. Additionally, the figures do not include money paid by sponsors, which can oftentimes be a substantial portion of a fighter's income. They also do not include any other "locker room" or special bonuses the UFC oftentimes pays.

For example, as discussed above, the figures above do not include the UFC's traditional "fight night" bonuses. The UFC awarded $100,000 each to Akiyama and Belcher (Fight of the Night), Henderson (KO of the Night) and Lawlor (Submission of the Night).

In other words, the above salary figures are simply base salaries reported to the commission and do not reflect entire compensation packages for the event.

Frank Mir needs a new agent. He could only secure $45K in base pay? Really?

Old contract probably from before he beat brock the first time. I also guarantee you he got paid way more for this fight in undisclosed pay.

On ESPN today Dana said they are getting reports that they did "well over" a million buys. So you can bet that a few of those guys are going to get nice PPV % checks.

On another note...Cro Cop is officially signed to a 3 fight contract with the UFC and will be fighting in September against Dos Santos. Dana also said that the winner of Carwin v Valasquez will fight Brock for the title.

In interviews you often hear people saying that they will fight someone 'if the money is right' which basically means there are negotiations beyond the contracted payment and this is from people who don't get ppv cuts either. When dana was asked about rich franklin and keith jardine getting paid rather little he basically said that they are paid much more than what is on the books. So, even beyond ppv cuts these guys are getting extra money that isn't including sponsors.

You're correct. Santos is on Team Nog, Werdum is on Chute Box.

In terms of sheer physicality, Carwin is one of the few fighters that match up well with Lesnar. I'm not a huge fan of Lesnar, so take that into consideration when I say this. I have absolutely no problem with the majority of what he did after he won. The one thing I took issue with is disrespecting Mir in his corner when he was still trying to figure out where he was.

Insulting the fans, whatever. The guy just made himself the most hated man in MMA. He's basically assured both himself and the UFC monumental paychecks when he's on the card. As much as people loved Couture, they now hate Lesnar just as much. He has the physical tools to remain at the top for some time, as long as he continues to evolve. If he continues with the bull rush method, odds are sooner or later someone is going to catch him and it will be lights out time.

Henderson I am extremely disappointed in. I fucking loathe Bisping. If he never fought again I would be thrilled. That being said I think Henderson crossed over the line when he nailed him with that forearm. Bisping was out the second that fist connected. Hendo knew that. The forearm was a bit much and I'm shocked Rampage didn't freak out when he saw it happen. It ruined an otherwise fucking awesome knockout.

So now who's left to fight GSP? Another fight with Jon Fitch? There aren't too many big names left out there that GSP hasn't already demolished.

All in all, a pretty damn good showing for UFC 100.

fighters are taught to keep swinging till the ref pulls them off. also rampage has no grounds to be offended that fool hit wanderlai 3 times when he was out cold on the canvas.

i guess swick will be next in line for GSP, i would rather see Rumble Johnson though
