No clue why Akiyama - Belcher is on the main card when there's like Danzig and Jones fighting in the preliminary bouts. Good to see Akiyama in the octagon, maybe they're trying to catch some japanese audience or something. Would still rather see some of the other fights on the main card.

Why is Mark Coleman even allowed to fight? His last match was pathetic.

He's seen as the gateway to asian markets.

This is my only problem with Lesnar. He won one fight and got a title shot (after losing his first against Mir), he beat Couture for the title not to long ago. Most fighters go on 6-7 fight win streaks before getting title shots.

Dude is a beast imo, but damn man, like you said I thought you had to win several to get a shot. I'm more of a casual watcher but I knew he hadn't been in the sport long. Also there was a Nate Diaz vs Neer fight on last night but I fell asleep before I could watch it, was that shit old or what and who won?

Well couture did lose 2 fights in a row at LHW and got a title shot at HW so it's not that bad really. HW was thin enough that 2 fights in a row could be enough.

Yeah that was almost a year ago. Nate won, barely.

Was it Alexander vs that nerdy white guy that beat him in his hometown, I think that was the last thing I saw before I passed out.

I see it as Lesnar getting into the UFC, losing his first fight, winning one fight, getting a title shot and winning the title. Just seems unfair. Cain Velasquez, Cheick Kongo, even Shane Carwin were essentially in better standing for a title shot just because they had more then one win or seniority in the UFC.

Couture was already a well established fighter and that isn't as unexpected as Lesnar. Either way I do agree Lesnar is a beast, but i'm pulling for Mir on this one.

I think his popularity helped him get the title shot faster. You have to admit, he does bring in the money. If he wins this Mir fight it will make his title legit.

I think of him kind of like Kimbo, but it seems he has a lot more talent and respect from the MMA community?
