Lesner was a very good wrestler before he was a professional wrestling entertainer. He is way better than Kimbo. Most MMA fighters have some type of early background in some type of trained fighting. Street fighting in backyards is not that. Kimbo was training and I guess still is since he is in the new TUF season. Who knows, if he works real hard, he could become something.

he got the title so soon because the HW class is lacking in quality.

Couture was already a well established fighter and that isn't as unexpected as Lesnar. Either way I do agree Lesnar is a beast, but i'm pulling for Mir on this one.
Cain was way way way too young at that time (had 2 wins in the ufc probably at that point and over lesser competition as well as having no name recognition), kongo had just won his first fight after losing to herring. Carwin hadn't even had his first ufc fight yet. Lesnar had at least had a good showing against Mir and then blasted through herring who is a solid test for someone like lesnar. I'm not sure who else in the ufc was riding a 2fight win streak over solid competition who would have been a lock for a title shot.

Couture was well established but he was given that title shot because he can sell ppvs (just like lesnar) he was not expected to win at all.

Lesner was beating Mir, until he left his leg hanging out, and Mir got him.

That's true, but I see it as just as much a credit to Mir as it is to Lesnar. Most guys would've folded under Lesnar's onslaught, Mir kept his head and kept looking for subs.

But yeah, I doubt Lesnar will do something as stupid as he did in that fight this time around - I was gasping as I saw him walk straight into Mir's guard.

Coleman was beating Fedor until he left an arm out and got armbarred.

    What's your point?

Which fedor v coleman fight? I don't remember him losing, simply being under a weak gnp doesn't mean you are losing.

Coleman didn't leave the arm out in nearly as much of a gift wrap as lesnar did and lesnar was winning in a much more dominant fashion. Honestly if you replayed that fight he same way and had a different ref in there lesnar could have been given a tko victory (justified or not in your opinion)

Although Lesnar is a beast, I am still wondering why Mir is being heavily an underdog.... he DID beat him in their first fight, a BB in Jujitsu and has way more experience then a guy who is 3-1.

I dont know but the way I see it, Mir will get the win in a spectacular fashion and i will quote this again in this thread

oh yea , there might be some chat that will go on with people going to chant" FEDOR , FEDOR" which although disrespectful but I think funny if it happens to see dana reaction

Arlovski was beating Fedor till he left his chin out. Amirite?

Lesnar fight hard to predict, don't actually know how much Lesnar has learned about Submission defence as he really hasn't been tested in it since his loss to Mir. I don't like how Mir thinks he stands a chance in stand up just because he beat Nog in stand up. Nog =|= Lesnar in terms of stand up, Lesnars a beast and I don't see Mir standing a chance unless it goes to the ground. That being said I don't like Lesnar, his attitude towards the sport itself and how it came to be is shit, he doesn't respect the people in the past who have layed the foundation for MMA today, and I would love to see him lose with the exact submission he did in their first fight just to show everyone how much of a fucktard Lesnar is.

Edit: Also as I remember it(could be wrong though) Randy abandoned his belt when he abandonned his contract. The UFC held a title fight between Nog and Sylva to determine who would be the new HW Champ. Just because Randy decided to come back doesn't mean they should have re-crowned him, he should of had to fight Lesnar to be considered the #1 contender to fight the winner if the Nog. vs Mir fight. Mir should be the Champ right now with Lesnar being the challenger, no way someone who held a 1-1 UFC record should have been considered for a "Title" shot.

If they wanted Randy to remain Champ then it should of been the winner of Mir/Nog who got the title shot with Lesnar waiting in line. Both had better streaks then Lesnar when he was given the shot.

If it was any other fighter I would have thought they wanted to loose, the way Lesnar left his leg out there for Mir to grab. Lesnar didn't have a clue what happened. If he wants to beat Mir he needs a lot more ground training cause if Mir gets a hold of any limb of Lesnar, he'll break it off.

That being said, I hope cocky Mir doesn't show up, Mir gotta take Lesnar seriously, because I don't want to see him getting caught with a lucky shot and getting KO'd, or stopped.

This is what I was talking about. That was way different than the other examples. I LOL'd at Arlovski leaving his chin out. I wish more fighters would try the flying chin attack.

If Lesnar keeps the fight standing up I think he will beat Mir. There's only so long that Mir would be able to avoid getting hit with a punch that will ring his bell. After that it's ground and pound and over. If Mir is able to get him on the ground early I think Mir will most likely beat him. I'm not a huge fan of Lesnar but I fucking hate Mir. So I personally hope Lesnar beats him down quick and easy. The longer it drags on the better chance Mir has at slapping on a submission.

Why are people complementing Brock's stand-up like it's something worthy of praise?
Charge in > throw wild big punch > lands(?) > No > throw another wild big punch > lands(?)> Yes > hulk lesnar smash!!!
Hate Mir if you want but he isn't stupid, he'll take it to the ground and/or drag it out to submit him.

    Anyways, wtf GSP!?
    What's Up With GSP's Elbow?

So let me get this straight. You come in with a sarcastic tone like lulz dats all teh strikers no? I tell you no it's not, go look up good ones and I'm the elitist? Riiiiiight.

I hope that elbow thing with GSP doesn't effect him come fight night. Would hate to see GSP lose and Thiago's win belittled.

Is that not what strikers do? Throw hard punches and hope they connect? I mean correct me if I'm wrong and give me some examples if I'm so retarded. I've watched quite a few fights in the past year, but I ain't claimin no expert.
