<3 Lesnar fuck the fans, he destroyed Mir in every sense of the word.

The guy's a freak show. He's no different then Kimbo Slice at this point in my opinion.
Lesnar is selling himself and knows what he is doing. Just like how you shouldn't buy all the grudge matches as real hate and see how it is important to sell a fight(er) you can see a bit of that in brock.
please someone find a picture of henderson mid air while hes dropping that last blow. holy shit
also anyone have links to prelim fights yet? i have found stun gun's but thats it
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooow I cannot get over how badly Bisping got KO'd tonight. That shit was brutal. GSP won, I'm happy. I wanted Mir to win, but as soon as I saw Lesnar's head wrench thing he did in the first round I knew it was over. When they were both face to face at the end after the fight Mir's face looked like a mess.
Now if only the Senate in new york would stop being assholes and let pro MMA into commercial arenas here.
I'm not too fond of him. He really hasn't shown anything to be impressed about besides muscling his opponents. What would the story be if he weighed and met with the average HW division fighter? It would be a huge difference in my opinion but the HW division is the only one that has to put up with this ridiculously disparity in weight because a SHW division just isn't feasible. So people like Brock who use this to their advantage get put on a pedestal.
Ya, I don't think Lesnar has any actual MMA skills at ALL. The guy goes in the ring, charges his opponents, and just throws a barrage of hammerfists and shit and thinks he's God's gift to fighting. Of course he's going to win, he's a brick shithouse. I was really hoping Mir was gonna take this one![]()
So let me get this straight, stuffing arguably the best BJJ heavyweight's guard, keeping half guard every time and GNPing the dogshit out of him is equal to no mma skills? I am a huge Frank Mir fan and I'll agree lesnar is not the most technically sound fighter, but he does what he does well. So fucking what he isn't throwing a flying inverted heel hook, until someone can defend his looping strikes, his takedowns and his GNP hes got enough skills to keep the belt for a long time.
Laughable that brock doesn't have skills. There are TONS of enormous heavyweights around but there is a reason only a few of them have found success, it's because they actually have talent to back up their size.
Also, don't confuse the heavyweight division as being 60 pounds wide as there is no one who weighs under 220. Basically only 1 person under 230~ so although it has the biggest weight range it isn't quite as huge as it appears.
a great night of fights that ended badly :s
-Akiyama was not rubbed at all, but again its not the first time rogan add his own biased flavour in fights.
- Bisbing deserved the knock out, but the second punch uncalled for coming from one of the legends of MMA who should represent the sport and not fall for UFC hype crap.
- GSP is awesome as always.
now into main fight:
Josh barnett was right on the dot few days ago when asked who would win the fight, and he said that Mir is inconsistent in his wins and has many flaws that he continue todo. On the other hand the sheer amount of weight difference will diminish whatever Mir has in skills. so he chose Broke lesnar.
having said that, I wished Frank Mir would win because Lesnar is just a freak show that doesn't care about MMA and only about the money that he and dana white going to get from PPV (yea he gets a cut from thier PPV) <<--- which really pisses me off, giving fedor 1 sided contract and on the other hand giving Lesnar PPV cuts, just because that Fedor isn't known by MSM.
last thing, Shane Carwin should easily get a win over Lesnar cause they match in size, so it would be skill vs skill. Lesnar powerhouse wont be an advantage
/end rant sigh -..-
Gracie Jujitsu basically proved having no skill + being big = a loss most of the time. If you're telling me he has no skill and just knows how to punch, you're a fucking idiot and shouldn't be commenting on such topics.Originally Posted by People

he does have a mediocre skill but no in the caliber of top HW, the thing is you know... weight classes are made up for the sheer reason that size matters, coming 40 pound heavier is like 2 weight classes above.
Having said that , watch Kongo shane carwin or vele- blabalba Brazilian guy beats him once they get the chance. 4-1 SHOULD NOT be a HW champion record its stupid
Yep.
I've been watching UFC since the tapes came into my video store in like '96, and skill usually > size/strength.
But not always, and not when size/strength also comes with an accomplished wrestling pedigree.
Brock stands for everything that is great and bad in MMA. Contrasting styles pose challenges, which is great, and the biggest dude wins, which is bad.
When it comes down to it, he poses a huge challenge for even the most skilled fighters, and it will be interesting to see who can solve him. I'm a huge Fedor fan, and I am beginning to really wonder how Fedor would handle him.
He's really good at MMA, whether you like how he fights or not.
fucking this.
The guy is a greco-roman NATIONAL FUCKING CHAMPION people. I mean seriously, his skills are there but as long as he can keep dominating people by beating the shit out of them he will. Until someone who can counter that comes along he has no reason to use anything else in his repertoire.
Skills or no, Brock is making the UFC so much fucking money it's ridiculous. I knew at least 20-30 different people on base that were ordering this PPV, alot of it from people who don't even really watch MMA.
What he did tonight wasn't pretty or flashy in the slightest, but he obviously did exactly what needed to be done to stop Mir, and you really can't say anything past that point. While his actions post fight can be brought into question (really though I think it's all just showboating, he's playing up his public persona since that = more buys for his next fight), I don't think his ability to perform in a fight is really questionable at this point. Mir was the only black mark on his record and he pretty much demolished him.
