    MMM Weapon Crit% Boost

Well, I was curious if these weapons' Crit+% still only applied to the weapons that gave them... The curiousity started after several boredom induced Vorpal Blades with Koggelmander offhanded showed extremely strange spikes. As in only an 8% TP return (2/5 hits landed, I believe? I'm not really so sure on that.) doing over 1.1k with no buffs to speak of. I was discussing it with other members in my LS, who insisted that all weapons that granted a bonus to crit% applied to your total crit%, and were not just a bonus exclusive to that weapon only. I believe testing has been done on KSNM weapons that showed they only contributed to the single weapon (hand-to-hand technically being a single weapon), but couldn't point them in that direction since I couldn't find the actual testing. The only "evidence," which is none, is the Wiki. I decided, since I have yet to see any testing on the MMM weapons, which could very well be different, I should try. Well, after 100 Diving Beetles in Sauromugue Champaign [S] (Lv.44-47) and 506 critical hits with 120 DEX (63+57) and 4/4 crit merits, I have results.

For this test, I used sushi for more DEX+. I had Koggelmander offhand, which gains a 7% crit rate bonus against vermin. My mainhand was Perdu Hanger, if anyone must know. I was on Blue Mage and wore no other bonuses or detriments to Critical Hit Rate or DEX. Judging by the above information, I would have a natural critical hit rate of 24% before Koggelmander. I did NOT use Brutal Earring or any form of Double or Triple Attack.

I ran 2 parses. One with kparser and the other with DirectParse.

As you can see, my critical hit rate does fluctuate between the two by .36%, but it's fairly close. Also, note the accuracy. They're both at least .38% shy of the 95% cap, so there is a margin of error (or chance, I should say).

The numbers above are a full 1% higher than my estimated 27~27.5% critical hit rate (assuming the effect only applied to Koggelmander). It would have had to have been close to 31% (and it was for about 3/4 of the time I was parsing) to prove that it gave a universal bonus.

...However, I'm still confused by that full 1% of extra crit. Could anyone explain this?

To justify the 1% difference you will need a huge samples (I am speaking of thousands), but from your data it is quite clear that your Perdu didn't gain 7% crit bonus from Koggel.

If you are extremely curious about Vorpal Blade, what you should do is to parse WS damage from Perdu/Koggel against Perdu/Fragarach. (with some other stats elsewhere to balance them out and unequip Brutal Earring to cut down more errors)

I'm pretty happy this was tested. It's pretty annoying to get samples like these.

Likewise I know how frustrating it is to test such rates. I tested pahluwahn khazagand's crit rate about 6 months ago and swung at crabs almost nonstop for probably an hour and a half. Similarly, I was seeing a higher than expected crit rate for almost an hour or so, and then it just started to drop, and consistently dropped to be significantly lower by the end of my sampling (like, the value of the boost at the end was less than half of what it had been at about the 1hr mark ).

I thought the max crit hit rate is 20%? Do weapons bonuses allow the cap to be broke?

Nice, does that just include the crit vs. enemy type or any weapon with a bonus like Senj. etc?

I think FG tested that yes, they can. With capped DDex, rampager and claymore grip it was at 29%. So all weapon bonuses.

Belgaer, did you filter yur parses to show only results for which beetle level ?

Because if you didnot filtered... those crit% are averaged for all lvl44-47 range, which means essentially different mob's AGIs and thus different dDEX.

Example of parse i did @ Nyzul Birds camps, over 2 PTs duration in attached images.

These 2 merit PTs were parsed on KParser 1.3.8, without any food, as Elvaan WAR75/sam using Perdu Voulge/Claymore Grip (total DEX 95=65+30), with only BRDs (no COR crit+ roll or anything that would reduce mobs' AGI).

Lvl82/81 Greater Colibris have estimated AGI=67, thus a dDEX=95-67=28 -> i find 8% crit rate reference table (for dDEX26, lower closest value to 28 ) + 4% crit merits = 12% base crit rate + 3% from Claymore Grip = 15% theoric crit rate. Compare with values parsed in attached images, both with a significant sample size. If i use generic mob filter to "Greater Colibri" (no level distinction), Kparser displays 15.22% (2096 hits/319crits).

On topic, yes i admit this is a bit offtopic regarding crit% added from subweapon, but if lvl81 Gcoli had a different AGI than lvl82 ones, i'd have parsed different crit rates : this is what i wanted to explain regarding beetles Belgaer parsed (hope they all have same AGI ?).
