I dont use Samurai roll for my own benefit, never stated doing so. 80% is enough with sushi, you seem to forget that more haste coupled with storeTP and moderate accuracy (80% accuracy is moderate and good enough) give you far more TP in return then reaching the accuracy cap. (besides I have 8/8 sword merits)
Seriously I partied with this COR and I'm sure it was you Damane (Hume F Hades?), fucking worst shit COR player I have ever had this displeasure of partying with. Such a bad player with a selection of good gear.
The circumstances in which Samurai Roll is more beneficial than Chaos Roll aren't something most players are likely to ever come across in a merit party. Furthermore, you're doing two different things that are unfavorable to StoreTP: using multi-hit weapons, and having poor accuracy.
And yes, my hit-rate estimation assumed you had capped sword merits.
Honestly I kicked you to two box my COR as I do a shit ton of a better job than you ever, ever could. The whole party thought you were a complete idiot and a waste of gear, you tried to DD only and never once hit a sleep and rarely (never?) used Evokers which sure some people will argue shouldn't be necessary but we could have done with it. Your damage was also pathetic.
Starr if you don't mind, check out my response to you up about 25% of the way down the page. Thanks
I can personally tell you that corsair DD in a merit party is unbelievably powerful. Depending on how aggressive you want to play, and how much effort you put into buffing yourself outside of the main pt, the results vary. But my parses have shown that I can outdamage a DRK/sam of average gear quality, parse evenly with a nin(but nin tanks, so obviously he would beat me full on). But in general, mnks, sams, pimp drgs will outparse me easily. I've found that the best gear choice has been using a full haste build, eating sushi and using hunter's roll on your pt and including yourself in that buff. Your best bet is using Jambiya/Joytoy, and using Evisceration instead of slugshot. Properly geared, you can expect your evisceration to hit anywhere from 300-900, with average around 5-600ish. This is just my personal opinion, but there's no reason to go cor/rng and spam bullets and hope slugshot lands, unless you have rng main and can recycle gear choices to use on cor, the majority will not have access to those nice racc/rattk geras.
Doesn't that suggest that NIN outdamages DRK/SAM <_< the DRK is doing something verrrry wrong.
You shouldn't use hunter's roll in a good merit pt. That will be completely useless to properly geared and merited DDs (two handers are the way for fastest merits...).
I think cor well geared can DD on birds pretty well.. but if they really want to go for the parser they'll have to burn a lot of gil on food.
You know honestly, the average drk doesn't walk around with Homam and aces, and i know NINs can parse pretty well on birds with the right buffs. So it just varies, but on average COR dd should do some surprising numbers of the parse if you gear properly.
I tend to invite whoever is around, 2h, mnks, nins, whatever works, even with hunter's roll most 1h jobs really only parse at 87%- 88%.
I'm not 75 yet, but I'm trying to read up on stuff, and some of the things I'm reading sound horrendous (using evisceration on COR instead of Slug Shot because it's not worth spending money on gear/bullets. . .wtf?).
Opinion on Joytoy vs. Merc. Kris?
My thoughts had been
Mkris or Joytoy/x/Martial/Steel
Walahra/(Chiv/Spectacles/PCC)/(Diabolos for Mkrs, Supp for Joytoy)/Brutal
Cobra/Dusk/Snipersx2
Amemet+1/Swift/Cobra(until Skadi)/Dusk
How does this sound? Suggestions? SJ and food advice?
Looks good. As for subs:
/WAR for e-peen weaponskills.
/DNC to give the party some extra healing without gimping your DD too much.
/RNG I mostly use for events only, because I never felt comfortable eating meat on it without gimping the party with Hunter's Roll and if I'm going to eat sushi I might as well /WAR.
/DRG for a fun Haste build.
Anything I'm going to melee for TP on, I use sushi. If I'm shooting only (Odin or other events), Pot-au-feu.

378 Accuracy, 85% hit rate with Bream.
On the /WAR I dunno, my COR is on my Elvaan and he has no Haste Belt so when I used to DD on birds (only sub WHM and 2box it now) I used to wear full Accuracy gear, OHat. PBody, Life Belt, Hollow/Brutal then Ulth/Rajas cus I'm cheap but I do have a Woodsman Ring. I have outparsed mediocre DRGs at birds but then I would not melee at any other merit camp on COR personally.
I don't find it to be a big problem to melee on Mamools, although obviously the THF and NIN ones are a bit awful, but you can try to time it so you run back and cast Evoker's Roll at that point, or whatever. I haven't actually merited on Mamools in a long time. My last two merit sessions were in MMM; the mobs there seem (based on my parsed accuracy) slightly more evasive than colibri. I was with 2 very good DRGs and a DNC both times (2x March Chaos COR), and I ended up doing about half of what one of the DRGs was. I usually end up better off at colibri (but then I don't have to help sleep so many of them). Of course, I've beaten "real" DDs at colibri, even DDs with very nice gear, but that doesn't mean much.
I melee in city Dynamis and Einherjar too, although Einherjar can be bothersome because:
1. I feel obligated to /NIN because of all the bad shit it can help prevent
2. AoE blind, accuracy down, etc. Obviously removing this from a COR is not a high priority. Actually, I see even a lot of 2-handed DDs that could do with more accuracy in Einherjar. Since everyone in my party is already getting minuet x2 and march x2, I do throw up Hunter's Roll at times, because I feel like that's going to increase their damage the most (in that situation). After all, I can't give them haste, so if their acc isn't capped or very close (and I know it's not), that's next. Give us pizza slices, already.
I still wonder about which earrings are best for Slug/Deto. They all seem rather sad, actually, compared to pretty much every other slot. I don't think WSing level 0 mobs would tell me anything useful, and it would be awfully hard to test in real situations simply because of COR itself: I'm often doing Chaos Roll, which is of course variable, and then I'd have to be sure to stand exactly the same distance away from the mob for each WS. I mean, I'm pretty sure Vision and Drone are the worst for WS, but how much of an improvement are the others?
Yes City Dynamis and Limbus I love meleeing but Einherjar is a no no IMO.
Assuming you've got an acceptable hit-rate with Detonator, I'd say go with dual Triumph Earrings. STR is generally the way to go with weapon skills, assuming your accuracy is sufficient and there isn't some overwhelming modifier and a significantly larger lump of said stat+ available in the same slot. This is even more applicable with ranged weapon skills, as per fSTR2.
