I thought it was okay, but it was just completely different from his first three albums. It appealed to a different crowd I guess. Paranoid, Heartless, and RoboCop are decent (maybe Amazing too), the rest is pretty trash.

for real. when you start to lose your game, take it behind the scenes. look at timbaland. motherfucker hasn't put out solo shit in forever, but being a featured artist in addition to doing the beats and producing has made him a huge fucking name.

Kanye was my introduction to getting into rap when I was still in my ROCK AND ROLL ONLY mood. I've since moved on to better things but I don't forget where I came from

I had a brain fart and couldn't think of a specific song, so I just posted the first video youtube gave me of Kanye. Sure enough, it had autotune.

This statement is funny because he actually produced the beat for jay-z's DOA.

Hip-Hop itself is a highly repetitive genre of music. In my opinion, we NEED artists like Kanye because they're not afraid to try to reinvent themselves with every album.

unfortunately the reinvention needs to be quality, not recycled material. he reinvented himself into tpain.

because he used autotune? yeah. but the beats, hooks, lyrics, and overall flow was more akin to usher's confessions.

t-pain sings about falling in love with strippers, gettin crunk, and having an overall good time. 808's was the complete opposite.

really just talking about how it sounds, because the vast majority of lyrics in rap/hip hop are honestly not worth listening to. but yes, when everyone is hopping on the obnoxious autotune bandwagon so they can "reinvent" themselves as singers/get credit for doing something outside their genre, yeah, it really takes the impact out of your new sound. i'm not really impressed that he wrote an album about women being harpies that ripped out his heart or some shit. welcome to 50% of every country/rock album ever made.

not to mention how every interview he gives is about how people "don't really understand him" and how he's more persecuted than say... christians on the internet, apparently.

btw half the tracks on BoAs english album are so retardedly autotuned that even if her english wasn't terrible they'd still be impossible to listen to.

Because he steals other peoples music only to push completely unrelated ideas and messages?
Sounds more like an average run of the mill lump of shitrapper to me.
