    PC + 1080p TV

So I got a 1080p TV for my PC recently, and I've noticed that the image from the PC is not been displayed as 1080p, and I am also unable to go to 1920x1080 resolution without it cutting off my screen, is there a way to fix this to get the best of my new TV?

Another note, I know my TV is able to go to 1080p as it works with my PS3.

Edit: I'm also running on 32 bit Vista.

You should check the instruction manual from TV, mine can go up to 1080i but in the manual says that you cant use that resolution when you are connected to PC mode.

    Edit:
You should also check ur vid card , i used to have a Nvidia card and there was a program that auto detect the TV and show you the best resolution on the TV.

What type of video cable connection are you using between your PC and TV?

your TV might not be "Full" 1080p. Look in the manual to see what your TV's max resolution is. If it states that you can I would try updating your drivers.

Are you using any splitters or source selecter boxes? Vista will also knock down resolution if you don't have a Video Card/TV that supports HDCP.

Is the cable a HDMI -> HDMI? Or DVI -> HDMI?

I had the same problem. Are you using a Nvidia card? If so, there was a setting that i had to change under the Video & TV section for the TV to display the resolution correctly. I believe it was under the Change the Signal or HD Format tab. Hope this helps :/ Sorry it's been a long time since i had this problem.

That did it, after the change the signal part I just had to resize the image that was displayed (also on the nVidea setup thing)

    Thanks.

And thank you to everyone else who posted replies.
