Hmmm nobody must have been online then, I checked all those different rooms like Midgar etc and there was nobody there so I thought it must just be for local play when other friends use the Wi-Fi on their PSP to connect to you.
Will try again later tonight to see if anybody is online. SUrely someone in the world will be playing it. o_O
You need a PS3 to play via Ad Hoc Party, it basically acts like a wireless router, really easy to set up. There's also Xlink Kai, where you don't need a PS3, but I don't know the specifics for that since I don't use it.
By just going into the online lobbys you're only scanning for people within 50m(?) or so.
im not very familiar with adhoc party. i was wondering if there is someone that could give me kind of a step by step process to getting it hooked up. it would be much appreciated, cuz i really want to do some online fighting! thank you in advance!
now where can i find people playing dissidia in ad hoc party? lol there's no specific rooms for dissidia only.
Try J50~ and around there. That's where most English people hang out, often see Dissidia rooms when I'm playing Monster Hunter.
D01 is used alot for Dissidia, along with F01(mostly JP though)
dissidiaforums.com is a nice way to meet other players.
Is there any noticeable lag playing with other Europeans Trocian?
Haven't played many, tbh. I played with a friend who lives ~15 miles from me with close to zero lag. Also had a match with an Italian dude with some lag. Americans are always a bitch, though, you're basically playing the game at 50% speed.
So to answer your question, yes there should be noticable(but playable) lag on your average online game.
That sounds terrible, if I bother to really play and unlock stuff again I'll have to fight you some time. I started it up last night but only got Firion up to level 15 or so and stopped. I'm in France at the moment and my internet is rather shitty, but I doubt it'd be any worse than playing with US people. I guess US and EU versions can fight eachother over AdHoc, or are you using the US version?
Go for it. I play almost every night so just throw me a PM and we'll go a few rounds. There's Arcade Mode where all the characters are lv10 with preset abilities, and you can even scale down your level to match your opponent. Most games are also played without
gear/accessories/summons to make it fair for everyone.
I'm actually using the US version, but I have yet to encounter any problems so I just assume the versions are compatible.I guess US and EU versions can fight eachother over AdHoc, or are you using the US version?
I feel dirty for saying this but I'm starting to like using Cloud more than Firion. Omnislash V5 is fucking beastly, and Meteorain is great for people who like to run away.
What level do you have Firion at? He was my favourite character to use, but he is very boring until you get the extends and reflect (no idea what the actual move is called). Playing him again in the English version is so boring with just straight arrow, that shit is absolutely worthless, I abhor chase mode but you absolutely have to use it on Firion until you get HP attacks worth a damn.
Its like lvl 25, but yeah I plan to use him more next. So far Firion/Cloud are my favorites. I hate Bartz, I'm not sure why everyone loves him.
A lot of the characters you really have to give a chance. Lots of the good abilities/moves come later on. Terra's spells are very underwhelming but later on you get Meltdown and Meteor which are ridiculously good. Firion can chain a HP attack on the 2 moves he starts with (Axe Reel and whatever that electric pull in move is, forgot the name) which makes him stupid good, aswell as the reflect/barrier HP attack for magic users.
Yeah I plan to try them all out a lot eventually. The person I have the most trouble fighting right now is Jecht so I kinda want to try him as well. Jecht has amazingly strong brave attacks.
Bartz is so fucking happy he makes my teeth hurt.
Currently using Terra as my keep-away long distance and Kuja for close-in stuff.
Thinking about WoL, dunno why, like him.
