Saw a badass video capture last night on youtube. Shantotto vs Gabranth Jp Cosmos Stage I think. And she raped him bad. They even got the Taru running style down exact. I really wish I had a psp though I am considering saving up for one if its possible to have decent play on a monitor by hooking it up some how.

How do you avoid that god damn pillar thing aside from hitting him before he hits you? I fucking hate that shit.

You just roll at the right time, it's really not that hard to do. The only time it can be annoying to dodge is in the 3rd form where he changes the timing, but he rarely uses it in the 3rd form anyway.

Whoops, didn't see this. It's possible to hook up your PSP to a TV to play it on the big screen. If you have custom firmware you can also hook it up to your computer to play it on the monitor. I've never tried it on my TV, but it looks great on the monitor and you can screenshot/record video or stream the game itself easily on it.

For Shantotto you can, Stun and 3 strike staff don't actually count as moves, you see

you're kidding.. stun is awesome useful. saved me in battle on many an occasion.
my shantotto were essentially very bare tho.

brave attacks were bind and bio in the air, stun on ground..
and hp attacks.. only 2 i think. 1 air 1 land.. sometimes i'd add 1 extra air one in case.

Wish I could use Tornado more than once per fight... but it usually kills them with it, or I dont get enough brave before I kill them with regular aero ; ;

Hasn't saved me at all really. For my Shantotto it is typically:

Bind/Bio (Ground)
Bind/Bio/Retribution (Air)
Stone/Thunder (Ground)
Aero (Air)

Like someone mentioned, dodge right after the last pillar goes off. If you play as Bartz or Onion Knight, you can use that spinning HP attack, its perfect for this fight. Guards every hit, and makes you rise upwards so when he teleports above you, you hit him. Works every time if you time it right.

As for when Chaos turns into the huge 4 sworded giant, dodge immediately after his transformation cutscene to avoid the initial strike. Stay in the air with dodges, jumps or other good aerial attacks that let you move a lot (Judgment Master for Gabranth, Full Slide for Tidus, etc). You'll probably end up taking a hit or two, or maybe none. When he throws his swords into the field and makes the huge light circles appear on the ground that explode, just run off of them and you'll be safe. For slow characters, Speed Up++ is vital. I dunno how Exdeath would avoid this shit, frankly, unless he gets lucky and can roll out of range in one shot.

I tried using the PSN-version, but there you need 5.50 to play it, so I got it from a torrent and it worked fine with 3.71 M33-3. Not sure how low you can go.

I need to get CFW on my PSPs now. I searched and the Internets tell me that I can install CFW on any firmware as long as I've got a pandora and a MMS. I've got a PSP1000 and a PSP2000 God of War system.

I love Dissidia but I feel like my hands are fucking hams when I play; I hope it gets better as I get used to the controls. My left hand is cramping like a bitch after running through a couple of matches too.

As for the regular game, presuming they didn't change the programming too much, it should work fine with the same version as the JP one.

And if it doesn't... well shit. Hell if I'm giving up my CFWE3.60.

Played the demo quite a bit, and this shit is fun!

To those that played both the JP and the NA demo, will be there an additional difficulty setting in retail? I can beat the CPU pretty consistenly on the "hard" setting in the demo(except when Jecht corners you and kills you in 3 moves with you unable to move >.>)

Would be dissapointing if this is as hard as it gets,

You can spoof your custom firmware to make it think it's 5.50 even if it isn't - I did this with FF7. I'll dig up the brief tutorial when I get home or it can be googl'd.
