never saw the first one but this looks interesting.
Not a big fan of remakes or Linderman playing Dr. Loomis, Donald Pleasance is the only Loomis for me.
As long as they don't try to remake Halloween III(Jesus Christ that movie was terrible) or I'll watch this rendition of the series.
I didn't like the first one that much. It seemed like Rob Zombie took a lot of liberties with the license. Once he moved on past the whole backstory, it was a decent slasher flick. But all in all, the remake was forgettable. I don't think Zombie is going to be able to raise the bar enough to make Halloween II much better.
Rob Zombies scripts are all trash, the dialogue in his movies fucking ruin them. I dont know if he writes it or has a staff, but its the same garbage in every single one of his movies. apparently he thinks by inserting the word Fuck around every other word he is making movie magic.
I didnt like how in the first one Michael came from a dysfunctional family. Because it makes it seem like he was created from his environment.
I found it much more interesting that he came from a stable/middle class family. To where no matter how much his family cared for him or how well he was provided for, his inherent evil could not be covered up.
In short. Less plot. More tits, violence, and unicorns!
As a stand alone film, Zombie's Halloween was pretty decent. Comparing it to the original though (as much as I tried not to do) it didn't quite match up, but that being said I enjoyed the remake a lot and I'm excited for H2.
See my problem is that the Halloween series is my favorite slasher franchise. With the exception of Season of the Witch, I've enjoyed every single one of the movies. So I'm admittedly biased as to which ones I like more. To me the liberties he took with the story(Micheal's childhood etc) were done with no thought in mind. They didn't improve the movie. All that it did was show a really fucking ugly little kid slowly go insane and give some free screentime to Zombie's wife oh and a rape scene. In the end I will probably watch the second one, but I will have very low expectations.
I did like the new Laurie though, she was definately NOT a duck.
It was nice to see Danielle Harris return as well to the series as Annie (read: it was nice to see Daniell Harris' tits.)
I could have sworn the Malcom Mcdowell got his eyes pushed into his skull in the last one, and yet hes in this one?
Rob Zombie is the fucking maaaan. This looks good.
