The real benefit of Turkey Bacon is that it's "lazy man's bacon" because try as you might, there's no real way to microwave pork bacon and have it come out perfectly crispy whereas turkey bacon is actually BETTER microwaved than fried and can be made as crispy/crumbly as fried pork bacon in just 1.5 minutes.

it's not laziness, good uncured turkey bacon (unlike Louis Rich/Butterball) tastes like turkey bacon, not some cheap bacon facsimile, which makes it good food in its own right. The processed bacon subsitute turkey bacons are good, but hard to get used to if you're expecting real bacon I guess.

I have to chime in with bad tastebuds. I actually prefer good chicken or turkey bacon, too. It doesn't really taste anything like pig bacon at all.
