    FFXI + NVidia GTX280

Ok, so I'm not posting about FPS issues, because I have none in the minutes I actually get to play. But for some reason whenever I play FFXI it locks up after awhile (anywhere from 10-40 minutes) and the screen turns a single solid color, with sound lag.

EVGA said to make sure the drivers were up to date, and I did. It's not a problem with the card, because I RMA'd it. Does anyone else have experience with this card?

Please let me know if there's anything I can do.

Oh, and I'm running Vista x64 (and I'm unwilling to upgrade to XP, because of the 64bit doesn't like me very much.)

Hmmm, I'm running GTX260 from XFX with the latest nvidia drivers. Never had a problem at all running FFXI of that sort. Was also running in vista x64 and win 7 x64. Not sure if that helps at all since mine is a couple models below yours and a different vendor.

I don't think it's just FFXI, I think it's actually something else as well. It isn't overheating, I hit 59C in whitegate outside the mog house right before the screen froze, but it also did it one time when I was just watching something on Hulu.

I can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong, since I've already RMA'd every freaking thing -_-

What kind of powersupply unit are you using? I assume everything's connected correctly?

Do yourself a favor, refund that psu and get a real psu. For one you are not going to use that amount of power in your system (most likely) and you can get a corsair 750w psu for 109 + rebate 99.99.
