My argument is that reviewers are supposed to be experts when it comes to evaluating games. Last I checked an opinion from an expert is far superior to a trolling comment from someone who isn't; is that not the whole reason critics, reviewers, etc. exist?

^Dude it's better to reply with your own experience in the game, reviewers suck monkey balls and most high profile games are tipped off with money from gaming companies for decent ratings. You just can't trust them at all anymore.

If you want to argue the game being solid, the entirety of the game, that is going to include balance no? Poor balance would make mechanics not very solid at all.

Because VC is a high profile Triple A game that could not possibly have scored well on its own merit...
Obviously my experience with the game was a good one, but as such all my opinions are 'biased' in favor of the game. If I say "I enjoyed the game, the mechanics work well, and it was a refreshing changeup of normal srpg fare." then I will get either "You're wrong" or "You're stupid."
By quoting experienced third party opinions on the issue I effectively removed much of my personal bias.

A) The fact that they are paid is an implicit statement that they can be trusted to thoroughly and fairly review games.
B) Experts and reviewers are not mutually inclusive. Being an expert does not automatically entail you writing reviews, however professionally reviewing games implies a level of expertise.
