    Dental Prices In The US

    Hey,

So firstly i really really really really really really really despise the dentist.

    Im also one lazy bastard.

Anyways about 9 months ago i was due to go in and get a filling done but the thing is i still have braces on the lower set of teeth (due to get them off but also lazy to go do that) I had to get the back molar caps off and had temporary fillings in there and then never really went back since.

I know really stupid and lazy of me but i cant state enough how much i dislike the dentist. So it appears its catching up on me and it seems iv got an abcess so i really have to go back now. I rang today and made an appointment but the thing is i told them i was away in the US for the last 9 months as i had gotten a work permit to work for a 1 year and thats the reason i didnt go.

Really stupid of me and whatnot but i need to ask how much does dental treatment usually cost in the US if you dont have medical insurance / medical card and if i wasnt a proper citizen or whatever could anyone tell me?

How much would two fillings cost say? Also how much would your checkup cost?

Im gonna say i was in Orlando basically i need some info to backup my Bullshit story haha. Thanks

Call the dentist you've already made an appointment with and ask how much they're going to charge you. There, question answered.

If you want cheaper service, go to a dentist that's in the middle of nowhere. Travel out of state if necessary. Dental treatments can cost literally hundreds of dollars less if you go to a more rural or impoverished area. As for the finer details, well, this is research you should conduct yourself to make up for your putting it off. If someone else finds all the answers for you, are you ever going to learn your lesson?

Beyond that, don't do it again. If you don't like the dentist, don't do stupid things like leaving in temporary fillings for months upon months. There's a fair chance you've damaged your teeth and will have to see the dentist far more than you would have if you'd just handled things properly in the first place.

    Im not from the US.

Im living in Ireland i know how much it costs here but i want to let them know why i didnt get it while i was over there. Its stupid, irresponcible and probably more damaging i know and i certainly wont be doing it in the future.

I just wanted to have a ballpark figure of what it might cost if they ask. I have made an appointment for Friday, will probably get the balls chewed off me and everything ill take all of that.

Fillings are about $60-200 each and $40-70 for cleaning/dental checkup in my experience

I'm assuming that thoes prices are with insurance unless it costs a ton more here in California (which could be the case since everything seems to be more expensive here).

To the OP: your best bet is to call some dentists and tell them about your situation. Most dentists are willing to negotiate and if they won't go lower often they will tell you of someone who will. My roommate last year had a similar problem and I helped him sort it out so I can tell you firsthand that you should call them up and try and negotiate.

Depends on the number of surfaces needed for the filling, 1 would be around $65 and 3 would be around $140. The price for a check up would be $80 (This is the full exam with X-rays).
