Good god this movie failed to deliver on so many levels, instead of including key scenes they spent more time messing around with fanservice. (all the girl/lovey dovey crap)

Also in the book Harry NEVER fucking saw Snape before Dumbledore was killed, nigga got stunned and was invisible. In the book he stresses how he wish he would have been free to have done something, anything. In the movie he IS free to do anything but he doesn't do shit but stand there.

and the fucking last part of the movie was suppose to be a huge fucking battle, people die, and get seriously fucked up. But nope, there was not a person in sight. That really makes all that Order of the Phoenix training completely useless.

Yeah I think I am not going to watch the last entry, I hated that book most and I am sure the movies will blow as hard.

A month late but you word for word mirrored my gripes after I was walking out of the theatre. I was super pissed about that shit and I was with a homegirl that's a Harry Potter nut but she was ok with it.

Those little details right there really fucked the whole story up and the intensity of the situation. Like how you realize Dumbledore is really fucking dead because the petrification spell wears on Harry instantly. There's no mystery or hope, Dumbledore is dead. It wasn't nearly as impactful as how they killed Sirius.

Big boo on that respect. Otherwise it was an enjoyable movie till that point.

I wasn't bothered with the prevalence of romance in the film, seeing as that was the general backdrop of the book itself.

The background theme of Half-Blood Prince was love in itself--love being in the air at that point and time, and the value of love anchoring the characters. While I too would have preferred more attention to the finer details(so much weight was stolen from Dumbldore's end, it did not have the gravity on film that I thought it should), I respect the struggle the film makers had with keeping up with the varying plots and themes.

Where they went wrong was the failure to bookend it; Dumbledore and Harry's look into Merope Gaunt's last moments, their conversation about the value of love--it's protection of Harry and power against Voldemort, the revelation of Tonks and Lupin's romance, and Bill and Fleur's love post-disfigurement. These moments, in addition to Ginny's end-of-year moments with Harry, were what made all of the rest of the romantic goings-on relevant in the first place.

The fact they left these parts out did the greatest damage to the film, I think.

Finally saw the damn movie. D: I loved every bit of it. The ending was rather sad. <insert Q_Q here>

I stopped reading the books when the movies start coming out. I rather enjoy the movies now, for what they are, then read the books. Besides, the internet has pretty much spoiled every book anyways.

There were a few things in the movie that I didn't like. I'm not saying to make Harry and Ginny's romance over the top, but it did consume a large portion of the book. So the little amount of time that was actually spent on it was surprising. All in all it was a very enjoyable movie. Now we wait for the last two when the students at Hogwarts have beards and crow's feet lol.
