What do you do when Mom finds you on Facebook?

Added my mom when she first signed up. Everything else is in the past. Don't know if she still uses it, don't care. Never had her bring up anything that I've posted and she already knows I'm kinda crazy and that she shouldn't be suprised by most of the things I do.

I totally added my Mom. Of course, she had already added a bunch of my friends she is acquainted with. My Mom is a blast, so I don't mind. I've taken her to martini bars and gay bars, and out to fancy dinners with friends. She is the funnest fag hag ever, hahaha. My friends think she is hilarious.

Imagine a 5ft bleach blond woman with a dark tan tossing back the booze and spouting off the most hilarious stories. Not a "normal" mom, I suppose.

I don't have a bad relationship with my parents, but they aren't my friends. I signed up on facebook originally to keep in contact with my friends that I don't see all that often. I see my mom every damn day, yet she feels like she needs to be a part of /everything/ in my life.

ditch Facebook and never go back. I swear ever since they opened it up to the masses it has gone downhill. Ive had friends put their pets on it and befriend them, not to mention a lot of people I meet judge their ego based on how many friends they have online. Even if they only know 10% of them.

I made a facebook account last week after basically breaking down to years of peer pressure. I got slammed with all these invites right away, mostly from people I went to HS with. Most of those people I didn't even really like or hand out with in HS..why the hell are they inviting me?

And now, after having it for a bit and reading the "updates" that people make I think it is a complete waste of time. I don't have a job right now and I don't have time to update every time I feel like telling someone that I'm at the DMV or going on vacation. Jesus christ this thing is stupid. It feels like High School- get more friends and babble about unimportant shit all day. Then again I've never been one of those "keep in touch" people. I still talk to one person from my HS and one person that I went to college with. I moved away. I do new things with new people. I don't really feel like pretending that I still connect with people who I don't talk to more than once every few years. Maybe I'm just an asshole.

All I know is that I just lost a little respect for everyone I know that urged me to do this because it was OMG SO AWESOME!

The title of this thread on the index of the forums is "What do you do when Mom finds you...", so for a while I decided to play a game and see if I could guess what BG might possibly have cooked up as an entertaining thread for all to enjoy. "...masturbating in the shower"? "...wearing her underwear and makeup whilst talking like a quaint English woman"? To say I was bitterly dissapointed when I discovered that it was just a thread about some socially retarded people getting worried about their friends finding out that (god forbid) they might actually have a healthy relationship with their parents would be an understatement.

I joined Facebook about a month ago for the sole purpose of keeping in touch with family that lives across the country. I currently have 15 friends and 13 of them are family and I'm perfectly happy with it being that way. Its pretty cool looking up old friends too I suppose, but pointless to add them as friends since I can just send them messages regardless.

I should mention that they mostly update their walls 1-2 times a week and don't treat it like a LJ/Twitter, and they only post things that I actually give a shit about. Like it should be.

Both my parents are on facebook, but only my dad really uses it. I think that he is hilarious when he posts on my wall, and alot of the time he says the sweetest things. It's just kind of funny thinking of your dad posting on your wall and saying like "Have a good day! Luv Dad". His posts always make me smile. I don't mind having them on as friends. The most embarrassing thing he did was leave me a msg that said stop saying fuck on the internet lol.

But yeah I have family and extended family on my facebook. I don't have anything to hide really, but if I did then definitely go with the limited profile option.
