HEB is way overpriced. But then again super walmarts are cheaper here... It also depends on the stuff, for instance, me and my fiancee buy our vegetables and stuff from a local organic farmers market, and the organic food we buy is usually cheaper at walmart. But for toiletries and other types of stuff, our HEB tends to be cheaper.

Walmart has the absolutely worst Produce. My Dad works for Corporate Walmart, and I tell him that all the time. Sun Harvest or HEB for produce.

Totally agree! By organic food we buy at walmart is stuff like Amy's brand stuff, and also organic cereals. Our produce comes from a local farmer's market. MMMMM making me hungry since its about lunch time! Can't wait to get home to have some organic homemade dill pickles!!!!

I can't stand Wal-Mart, but where we live they were always the most convenient place to grocery shop. After Hurricane Ike, HEB sent a bunch of employees from other areas to man the stores while the other workers got their lives back in order, and the CEO sent trucks of Ice and Water to help out, just for the hell of it (great PR move). A couple of new HEBs popped up near our place, so we decided to try shopping there a few times... Wal-Mart can seriously kiss my ass now. Somethings are more expensive, but honestly, we usually save 10-20 per week shopping at HEB, plus they send us awesome coupons once a month (fxuk yea, .49 milk!) <3 HEB, and we honestly spend less there than we did at WallyWorld, and I will never shop at Randall's or Kroger if I can help it; now that shit IS overpriced!

On topic: You can never go wrong with Chuy's.

whats sad is we never see any coupons (they never send us any). We only see coupons in store. But I love the HEB Buddy thing where if you buy their "product here" you get these 3-4 products free. Pretty nice sometimes. I went there last week and bought some Simply Orange Juice, and came with a thing if i bought the simply orange I got a free Simply Lemonade and a 4 pack of yogurt or something. But it was cool that I got like 6-7 bucks in free stuff. A lot of the time at our HEB they have buy an HEB Pack of sausage, and get a big bag of chips, hot dog buns, bag of grated cheese, and a liter of cola free. So I do enjoy those kinda deals

Gotta love the combo-loco deals. I will say they have good quality meat too, and always something is on sale in the way of beef. They usually have pretty good produce too, and are the only place I've found Honey Crisp Apples, omnomnom.

If you've never been to a Freebirds, I suggest going there. Custom choice burritos the size of your thigh, I really like it. Makes for great leftovers too (unless you are a huge badass and can eat the whole thing).

Combo loco sucks. If you buy a $30.00 brisket, you get a free pack of hot dog buns, 2 liter Big Red and a bundle of Cilantro for FREE!!!!

Oh, also, El Arroys is a nice mexican food alternative.

Sampaio's is a Brazilian restaurant which was good when I was there, depends on your tastes though really.

Houstons steak house is a great place for steak, as well as Flemings steak house (but Flemings is a little to expensive for my tastes.)

If you're looking to make an evening out of it you should try an Alamo Drafthouse. It's a restaurant where they serve you dinner while in a small movie theatre, you can get pretty wasted in those places too (since it's a draft house.) If you choose that, be sure to take a cab, lol.

There's a Waffle House on US290, Heading from manor towards IH35.

As for food, the Roaring Fork, Eddie V's Freshwater Grille, If you can find a smokey mo's, its great bbq.

Also, at the fags calling HEB overpriced. Its cheaper than anywhere else in the central austin area. And much cheaper than any store in dallas by a long shot. I'd murder for one of those up by the UTD campus and not the retarded Central Markets, which are overpriced organic foods.d

Also, Alamo is a great theater to go to for the atmosphere, just watch what you order, the fries/burgers are meh. Pizza isn't too bad though. And yes, they carry all sorts of imports, microbrews, local beers too.

There was this sushi place I went to this one time. Their house special was a roll that had calamari salad on the top. It was called a dragon salad roll or something.

To this day that place had the best white tuna I've ever had.

It was in austin. other than that don't know what where whatev.

Kyoto's has this really good Sushi called "the Longhorn" that's basically fried Sushi + this ridiculous orange sauce. Daily Happy Hour starting at 6PM. It's on 3rd and Congress.

Can also try Pluckers if you like wings. I tried to get my picture on the wall once (have to eat 25 of the spiciest wings) but it didn't end well

I loved Whataburger's double patty melts. but even still, after eating anything there it I felt like I just ate three cows. Ugh. I stopped going there awhile back because of that reason. Greasy as hell x_x I usually just try to hit up a Subway if I'm tired of eating at home.

There's a Plucker's here in Killeen. Only been there once but it was pretty good.
