I hope you're right because I want some kind of character progression for him, lol. In regards to the appeal of this show? It's just a really well crafted drama about interesting characters. Simple as that. It's heavily character based with pointed moments of absurdity. I've always had a hard time describing it. It's really just the story of an ad agency and the people in it and one poor soul's mangled foot.

I thought episode 3 (really, what lame ass shit is it when they say an extended premier is 2 episodes?) was pretty solid. My only complaint about this show is that as much as I like it, there just doesn't seem to be much worth discussing about it. Drapers gonna drape, Peggys gonna Peg, and I'm gonna want to do Alison Brie.

I am right there with ya. I don't feel as interested in the characters as I once was. Here and there sure but not all of them at once anymore.

What! We got more story of the young Dick(Don). Thought it was pretty gross that he was spying on his pregnant mother getting it from the skeezy pimp of the house. I was surprised to see Trudy(Alison Brie) was permitting(to an extent) Pete's affairs.

I don't 'hate' Bob but he's a new character who seems to not really be needed. No doubt he'll either fuck something up in the future or save the day.

The actor who played young Don was nothing like him. I thought we were watching something else for a second.

I was definitely confused wtf was going on for a bit until somebody called the kid Dick.

Seasons been ok so far. Nothing spectacular. Everyone's just kinda doing their usual thing.

I recognized the kid as the same kid who played Dick Whitman before. Unlike, Bobby Draper, who may as well be Egg from Arrested Development.

I both loved and cringed at the way Don handled being scooped by his former protege (who used his line!) this week. I love Peggy Olson. I can't tell if Don is really upset with Megan's love scene, or just playing the role of jealous husband. I can't tell if he's just that controlling, or he was so heartbroken over Peggy that he had to lash out somewhere. Don is entering a period of culture and his life that he doesn't understand, but I'm happy to think he'll finally be forced to answer up. I also really enjoyed that we got some screen time for Dawn. It's been 6 years and this is the first time we've had a substantial character of color on this show. About time. It was also great to get more time with Joan and her never ending struggle to feel like she's taken seriously, even as a partner. Harry Crane is one slimy shit. Excellent French pop, once again.

Harry is just a little bastard. It's now to the point where I want to see some characters get their comeuppance.

Why does the show want us to despise Don. Is there supposed to be redemption for him in the future or will this be it for the seasons to come?

Sad the Peggy and Stan friendship is done for.

    Drapers gonna Drape.

This episode had much more substance in it than the last. I'm curious how Peggy is going to react to her betrayal in the coming episodes, assuming it bothers her at all. Maybe she goes full on Drape.

The real talent and beauty of this show is how Draper can be such a vile man, but illicit such pathos from us, often in the span of one episode. Don's antics were all the rage season one and it all looked so glamorous. These days when you see him stumbling drunk with another faceless conquest, you just groan. That's why I'm so eager to get more character growth out of him and explore who Dick Whitman really is. What does he really want and how does it conflict with who Don Draper is?

Bricks were shat. I love when this show lurches forward because it's always such a masterful, jarring, experience. I feel so bad for poor Peggy.
