NQ Fire Staves make me a sad panda. ;; I feel there's absolutely no reason not to upgrade to Vulcan's. "It's only 1 STR" but STR makes all the difference when you're trying to up your damage. I urge every up and coming RNG I know to save up for a Vulcan's. Trust me, it IS worth the 600k if you really like playing RNG. It's quite silly to ask for advice on how to make your job better if you aren't willing to save up the money for the upgrades that will be recommended to you. Also for earrings, another option is Cassie Earring. Since you have WHM leveled you possibly have MP merits. 1 STR 1 VIT and a little boost in HP will help your survivability. Novia is nice in longer fights where you really don't want to pull hate, and the RNG relic has a little Enmity- on it too so the more the better. And as mentioned, the Pahluwan Seraweels are free and have a little STR boost for your WS's. AF head (+1) for TP, anything that makes you shoot a little faster is a good thing, and the +1 adds some AGI, well worth the upgrade. Wyvern Helm is fine for WS. If you haven't tried Pot-Au-Feu, I recommend it. It seems like the best of both worlds when you have to choose between subs or sole sushi.

You might want to do some research on this. Sidewinder is about 25% AGI mod, and 2 AGI = 1 ranged accuracy, whether it's archery or marksmanship. As inaccurate as Sidewinder is, stacking the AGI is NEVER going to hurt. I don't honestly know if I would use the Hachi feet should I get my hands on a pair, but I will definitely test them out vs relic feet if Tinnin coughs them up for me and see how I feel then.

No, I've played with the Vul didn't see much of a difference. And as I said I rather put my money else where like getting an earring with 2STR more for 700k then 700k for 1 more STR.

    Well said.

You have to consider the amount of benefit you will get for your money and 700k for 2 STR seems a better deal than 700k for 1STR.

Pahluwan Seraweels and Crimson Gloves/Sery Gloves would the first 2 things on the for me.

Yea white box items are last to upgrade, priorities first, with the money of a vulcan you could find a sky ls that can sell cfg and seiryu.

In the end, you should have both anyway! I do and I'd never trade either in for any less, no matter how broke I am. But obviously it's your choice which upgrade you go for first. I wasn't saying not to buy a triumph earring, but that a Cassie is a suitable cheaper upgrade till you can afford to upgrade to the Triumph. I had Vulcan's first because I dinged into it. And on my server Triumph Earrings are 400k more than Vulcan's Staff so forgive me for not seeing it the other way around. I usually do cheaper upgrades first, but to each his own. Either way you should have a Vulcan's somewhere down the road if you want to maximize damage.

Man wtf, you ask how to increase your dmg, and people make recommendations then you say nah I'm not doing that too expensive/serious/hard to get/etc. Make up your mind.

No, I have took into consideration everyone's recommendation. I only disagreed with the Vul, and his comment. And I did not say I wouldn't get Vulc. Just at the time I can get something that gives me 2STR vs 1STR for about the same price. Sky I said I did not have a sky ls. But thanks to the person who suggested it, I'm now looking for a ls to buy it off. And I think I got a deal for about 200k. And how would you know if I'm saying"Nah" to their suggestions. I'm obviously welcome to them all. And I see the highlights and downsides of some. Oh and my mind is to taking "suggestions"

    Take care~

This too, but I saw the extra 50 HP from my MP merits as a huge advantage however. I mentioned it because he said he has WHM leveled and I would take HP+50 over HP+0 if I have the MP merits going to waste anyway. How many times have you barely survived something with less than 50 HP? It's happened to all of us I'm sure. ^^

^^ I understand you do not see the economy of my server. (well I guess you can though) Those numbers are not exactly right but there around those numbers, I would have to check. But yes I see what you were saying and I appreciate your suggestion. I will get a Vulc some day.. Just not right off the back. I still have 3 other 75 to support and I use them for endgame alot too. But if I ever move into HNM I want to already have some of the best gear for Ranger. So thank you for your input.

I'm not into all that math and which is better for what situational bullshit, but in general I usually save my STR gear for ws while I use all my R. Acc. gear for TP.
Just a question for you, why not the ws dmg%+4AGI vs the 10 r.acc/5rattk? I'm just looking for reasons as to why rangers choose this one option over the other.

My logic was to go with ws Acc.+15/4str (that's a no brainer for making WS hat) and the WSdmg +2% agi4 because I felt that with the initial Acc. bonus augment+ ranger trait that these two factors alone would allow me to drop an r.Acc ring and maybe some other piece in favor of more STR on ws and still maintain good Acc. on most things. The 2% ws dmg I realize is not much by itself but I think coupled with agi4 (Sidewinder has AGI mod) this hat will overall be the most balanced in terms of Acc. and Dmg output for Sidewinder.

I realize people probably would argue with getting double Acc. Augments that they can probably drop both acc rings in favor of both STR rings but to be fair I think you might even be able to get away with that with just even the initial 15% ws acc augment. I am still very interested in what other people have to say about these two options, if anyone else has an opinion please share it ^^ also, maybe there is some bias for me as i am making relic bow and will have access to Acc bonus from ws, if you think that pushes my situation to my logic, and that it should be a different setup for the average ranger you can say so ^^

sorry for that small derail OP.

To reply to your op and subsequent inquiries I have been playing ranger for a long time now; but have just recently been really playing around with -enmity set for TP gain. I can say its been really helpful and with confidence I can say this probably increase my total DoT because I can shoot more then I normally would, and not fear challenging tanks enmity especially on big mobs like HNM and Salvage boss. Of course you can always cap enmity on mobs and the longer the fight prolongs the more likely the chances of that occuring will be, but using a set like this will allow you to stay out of the cap for a longer period of time. Use with discretion of course, but not as much as you would without it ^^

The set itself is not very invasive to ranger normal tp setup but includes some pieces like:

    Novia earring
    Delta earring(15000 ampule@Einherjar)
    Barb belt(15000 ampule@Einherjar)
    af2 feet
af2 legs (provided you don't have/need skadi legs for xhit set)
Zha'Go's barbut if you can get it

These are all very good pieces of equip and they don't take much away from your normal setup. a good investment if you use RNG for variety of events, of course there are better options if you are exping, and zerging but generally you wouldn't use this set for that.

Also in response to your current equip posted you would probably get better numbers by using af1+1 or barbut for tping over wyvern helm. attack value will always outparse str on regular hits. I think most advice has been quite good so far in this thread, its good to see you're working on crimson hands so that will be a nice addition to your set. i agree with alot of what has been said for ws peices as well so I wont elaborate on that cause pretty much all bases have been covered already.

Oh also I wanted to mention for merits basically only real accepted requirements is rapid shot and snapshot maxed, everything else is pretty much up to personal preference ^^ also if you don't already have it you should try out PPA cp arrow from windy, that will increase your ws dmg with unlimited shot, and even moreso if you decide to cap unlimited shot merits, but that merit option is still always personal preference.

Thank you! If you have ever done Salvage ranger yourself can you tell me how useful it was?

In any efficient Salvage setup I've seen, I don't ever remember seeing RNG included. Take that how you will. Personally, I've never been in Salvage with a RNG so I'm not certain, but that could say something as well.

for a 6 man group, since 1 of the DD is bound to be THF, you need 1 tank, so only left 1 DD spot for a RNG

    most wont bring a rng

however, for some reason if a 6 man group were to go w/o a thf, i guess rng COULD take that spot

No, not THF slot ever since TH>all (alexandrite bags from boss too)

You can ditch bard and put a RNG in if you don't aim for boss fight. But yeah ... you should bring RNG as 7th lol

My group has done salvage now for over one year, probably closer to 1 year and a half on paper, and longer then that when we were semi-split into different groups. And when I say this long, I literally mean we go nearly every single day. Of that entire chunk of time we've probably missed/skipped/holiday at most 30 days total. So we're quite experienced and are mostly just capping SSR drops.

We do bring rangers, but this is always an afterthought. Before we begin to think of which DD we will bring we have our standard bases covered. For us, the standard most of the time is whm/rdm/brd/mnk/mnk/thf. We always have that core setup going into most every run, the only deviation is sometimes we use sch instead of whm if i feel like coming as sch ^^. after the base group is set up we will add in war, rng and sam and drk as whatever is most convenient for whatever member is coming to the run. we have 1 relic gun rng so obviously we choose him as that most of the time, but it was only recent he had the gun and we still took rangers before that. most of the time we will go with 6-8 people, but some nights is peak and we end up with alot of members wanting to join, and that is fine too if its not arrapago/zhayolm remnants :< (cell distribution there is icky)

Having war/sam/drk is good for first floors and frogs for killspeed we find but after that its not so good on salvage bosses. We use mnks for tanking/killing those and war/sam/drk generally stand back except to ws really, or if shit hits the fan lol. RNG shines on salvage boss, esp one with enmity down set and even moreso for bow ranger. Ebow sweetspot is outside of harmful AoE range so that is a big bonus. Even without buffs rng will still easily help put down a boss especially when time is an issue. in SSR and Bhaflau equip unlocks wont be so much of a problem and those bosses both have their own issues in which ranger capitalizes on. but we have taken rng to the other zones as well, even with just a ranged cell it helps for bosses and normal mobs go down in 3 arrows on first floor, we even give the first ranged cell to our ranger vs relic brd if that gives you any sort of idea of how squishy early floor mobs are...

Anyone who says RNG sucks in salvage needs to get their head checked... they probably either have had bad experiences with retarded rangers or a solid group of 6 which doesn't include room for a ranger and thus have never considered the applications of it. So if you're looking for salvage group for those nice skadi peices don't feel bad about offering ranger to the table, it can definately hold its own, good luck to you!!
