I liked the movie. Was like watching House/Wilson for 2 hours?

    Was a decent movie.

I couldnt say I was one of those people who knew what was coming, I didnt, but I still felt the movie had a very slow and dry pace and was often looking at my watch.

However there were some good scenes, and interesting theories and conclusions, and such; my favorite parts being the slowmotion analyzation bits.

But I dunno, just something about it kept me from really enjoying it. It's good for a watch, but dont expect anything amazing.

It just dragged on and on, and the dialogue was boring or mumbled most of the time.

I really didn't like it, but the other people with me liked it a lot. Go easy on me Kyo.

Anyone think Basil Rathbone(Old Sherlock Holmes)
    http://thebsreport.files.wordpress.c...l-rathbone.jpg

    and Mark Strong look similar?

I used to watch the old Sherlock Holmes movies as a kid, and I almost would have liked Mark Strong better as Sherlock.

Good movie, I wasn't one of the people who was able to predict the ending. Mainly because of a few scenes..

    Spoiler: show
Before anyone shoots off "omgzz it's a movie", read the whole thing. The three 'heroes' surviving that huge explosion, the big guy surviving a(2?) bullet(s) to the face, Holmes jumping into the water from a distance that I feel I would have died from, among other unbelievable things. These events kinda made me feel like maybe magic is possible in this flick since a bunch of other unbelievable crap happened.

I also thought the bad guy looked like Andy Garcia.. and sort of like Stanley Tucci.. Guy definitely looks like other actors.

I enjoyed this a hell of a lot more than Avatar. Thankfully it's a Guy Ritchie movie without masses of superfluous mockney gangstaaars.

    Spoiler: show
The big guy made me laugh. "Tu m'a manqué?"

Actually, after seeing the movie, some friends and I were at Wal-Mart and I picked up Oceans 13 and asked if Andy Garcia was in the Sherlock Holmes movie.

It's interesting to see the comparisons to House in this thread, because Sherlock Holmes was used as inspiration for the character House.

Not sure about the first two, but the dive (which was in all the previews so I don't think it needs the spoilers) isn't any higher than cliff divers go, so very survivable. It's probably a shorter drop than some cliff dives.

One thing they didn't explain was how Blackwood was able to move in and out of his father's room.

it was a good flick, just take the whole old sherlock holmes lore out of it, and take it for a fun flick.
