I used to install home theater systems for a living, and I agree with two recommendations here:

If you have the cash, and you don't buy Samsung, you're an idiot. Far and away the best TVs out there.

If you don't have the cash, and you don't buy a Vizio, you're also an idiot. For their price range, they're as good as it gets.

This 40" Samsung looks like an incredible deal to me. I paid twice as much for an older model of this same set 2 years ago, and I asbolutely couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Quick word on Butterfly Photo: It's a subsidiary of a "large company"(Best Buy I think) and they operate out of New Jersey to avoid taxes. SO when you buy from them you get free shipping and no taxes, which combined can add up.

I keep reading people having issues with using their TV as monitors and every company has their own naming convention for shit. "Full" 1080p, 1080i, PixelxPixel Processing Scan-line targeting, etc.. etc.. etc... One of my old LS leaders filled me in on all the lingo after he went through like 2 other TVs that couldn't properly land a PC input.

My TV/monitor is Flawless. I play FFXI and watch TV at the same time using a TV capture card.

PS: Take the time to wall mount it. I was Directed to a double arm Omni-mount. I got mine for 100.00 from some liquidator. If you do wall mount do research on bolts, the ones that come with most mounts are crap. I spent the extra 3 bucks and got real nice wood lag bolts, washers and lock-washers from OSH.
