looking over it all so far, summoner really doesn't get anything, barring potential augment gear.

the hmp strap is useless outside of campaign, club/shield beats it by 1 still, it really should have been +2 and +20. only way this could possibly win is if you can somehow augment more hmp onto dark staff.

no pet gear, no crazy campaign:+a billion pet related items. hell i even held off on buying the moogle expansion until i see some of the augmented gear i could get.

hMP strap will still be useful for those who don't have club/shield yet.

I like how the DNC and BRD daggers have higher on and off-hand DMG rating than the THF dagger. Awesome.

32 DMG and 190 Delay isn't good for a Katana for the off-hand? It's probably not the best but it's definitely pretty good.

He was talking about COR's hexagun. The base dmg is only 28, the same as our AF weapon. +10 would make it +38, 1 less than Martial Gun

In all honestly, it doesn't really matter if the weapon is a Scythe, a Staff, or old shoe, cause in the end it'll only matter if it beats the Elemental Staves for nuking.

i'm posting entirely from the aspect of "best for smn" or interesting stats. i also expect that hmp strap to be bought with alot of allied notes in a high rank. honestly i'm more interested in all the new costume items than almost anything else in this update.

If SE wanted us to use scythes, RAISE THE DAMN SKILL CAP!

I agree, however it is more likely augments capable of beating the ele staves would be present in a staff rather than a scythe.
