Iron Ram set and Paladins

Starting a new thread because its more specific then the update:

From wiki I can it looks like the Iron ram set will result in +20 all resists and 17 MDB.

I guess the best spectral resist setup would be

Black ribbon (even lower ribbons is more resist then Iron ram Head)
Assault Breastplate (if you cant afford it then Iron Ram body)
Iron Ram hands
W.legs and Iron ram legs (swapped depending on resists needed)
W.feet and Iron ram feet (swapped depending on resists needed)

140k AN + cost of body (60k?)

I guess its time to start campaigning again

I would think the body will be something like 75k AN minimum, but we'll see.

Too bad Coral Scale Mail will drop in price before I get a chance to throw
mine up. I plan on replacing it with the IR Body asap.

Why are people so set on replacing their body w/ this for mdt?
Without an Aegis or Dring, I prefer my 25% MDT to a few pieces of MDB.
And even when I don't swap out to Iron Ram lance, I would prefer Avalon/Coral.

Saxon I don't get why. When you're swapping out for IR Lance, you (more than likely) have a Whm in ur PT. Shellra V even at its base is 24% -MDT, after IR Lance + Resentment Cape you're at -39% MDT. Merman's Rings + Earrings and you're suddenly at cap, opening up every visible slot and Waist for MDB, namely, the entire IR Set. If you're pushing -MDT past 50%, optimize your setup better.

Hrm.. Well maybe I'll do that, I can always store it, but my RDM is only at level 10, and I'm not sure if I have any urge to level it anytime soon.

I'm just using the IR Haub because it has a higher Damage reduction than the Scale Mail.

So between ShellraV and aegis your capped on MDT? (aegis to be finished soon so I cant confirm myself) Nice to know i can dump the MDT rings/earrings

Mantle +1 is a 1 MDB loss over Resentment's -5% MDT. There is no other slot (sans D Ring and this new body) where you get a positive trade off like that. So the choices are either Avalon breatplate losing out on the 5 MDB from IR, or Resentment to Lamia for 4 MDB.

Lance, Sash, Rings, Earrings gets you -49% MDT with Shell V. Use Kaman+1, Lamian Mantle +1 and full IR for the best set available.

This is assuming no Aegis or D. Ring.

I'd camp the NM (and already have) instead of spending ~7M on the body. You are just alternating +4 MDB and -5% MDT in the Body and cape slots.

The only edge you are buying with ~7M is that your setup works everywhere. That's a steep price for a really small benefit. I could even argue that potentially you are gaining +5 resistances with the IR body, assuming you are using at least one other piece.

I typically don't swap in lance for MDT unless I'm kiting, I don't really like ditching my TP for it so I get my 25% elsewhere. But yeah, I agree for max results the MDB chunks on IR are pretty huge.

I will use Iron Ram set for this too. But it's not optimal, and you shouldn't speak of it as though it is. Also, Aegis is NOT a staple piece.

Hrotti (fire resist)
Aegis or Numinous Shield +1
Iron ram Lance
Black ribbon (even lower ribbons is more resist then Iron ram Head)
Assault Breastplate (if you cant afford it then Iron Ram body)
Iron Ram hands
W.legs and Iron ram legs (swapped depending on resists needed)
W.feet and Iron ram feet (swapped depending on resists needed)
Cerberus Mantle (10 fire) / Lamia Mantle+1 (4mdb) / Resentment cape (if you have no aegis)

Avatar belts for 20 resist
Rings/earrings for appropriate elemental resist
MDT earrings not needed w/ aegis
and D ring obviously if you have it
