im right before the last BC. parked right outside. watched the CS just before server down lol..
AMK afaik is a whole lot more entertaining than ACP, and even though its more quests that require you to run around, it does come with 'more content'. It's also generally more entertaining. More speech, more dialogue, more humor (you can never be too serious with moogles), better speech, better effects, better animation, everything is improved upon.
Whilst there are still fetch quests.. its less kill this kill that and some variety is added, especially with HELM stuff... it may be gimmicky but its a nice way of making people sit up and take note of zones more.
The Cardian battle was at least interesting. The strategy involved for the 4 orbs was nice. It also meant that groups that wanted to kill it in certain ways didn't have to camp certain types of cardians .
I liked the chocobo digging hot & cold thing. It's always been fun though this is my first time doing it in FFXI.
Sea Serpent Grotto. A nice way to revisit another old area. Also rewarding players who explored the area before (Sahagin Key quest, less running around that way).
Quicksand Caves wasn't so bad. Anyone whos been playing for a while should have map for dungeons, and this is a small way of rewarding people who bother to collect maps and stuff like that. Running around Altep was tiring but it did give variety to the quest without having everyone do the same thing, and under a nonsense time limit. It was casual friendly but 'challenging'. Also a challenge to know the zone well.
First BC fight was easy. King Cobra Clamp was a little surprising but like people mentioned, its not a hard BC. It does require only basic strategy which seems fair given that the fetch quest for the key item to enter the BC is tedious if repeated.
One thing I like about the missions added this update, both WotG and AMK is the addition of puzzle games and trivia quizzes. It seems like the Beaucedine puzzle is easy to solve once you know how, but took me 4 tries doing 50:50...
Trivia quiz in the Options challenge was kind of fun because if you paid attention to your adventurer appreciation report you'd be able to guesstimate some of the stuff. No real penalty for getting them wrong anyway so its all fun. (WotG trivia quizzes were way better tho, rewards people who care too much about the game/story/lore)
Lv1 challenge is easy. If you know the path to the Keep (like i did), you can pretty much go the whole way before Sneak/Vis wears (with quickening tho, Ragnarok had Swift Shoes). No real MGSing needed.
Find the moogle minigame was even easier. Its all on-the-way to the throne room stuff. Considering you'd have to walk the route to Throne Room no matter what, this mini-game seemed a bit redundant.
Not done the last battle yet.. but so far, its entertaining enough to be worth the $10, much more than ACP by far. It felt... long enough.
