Any word on Crystalline Flare (or any of Riko's moves) being stunnable?
Any word on Crystalline Flare (or any of Riko's moves) being stunnable?
Just beat it with the following setup:
Sam/Rdm
Sam/Rdm
War/Sam
Rng/Sam
Whm/Sch
Rdm/Blm (Roth, disbanded before I could take ss)
Sams subbed Rdm for MDB, Stoneskin and cures. No point subbing Nin for any job.
Fought as normal til Blms spawned. Slept them and killed them one by one. Solo Darkness can solo one.
Repeated for 2nd phase.
For 3rd Phase they had me 2hr Light at start to get hate. When MP started getting low we kited it with Grav, very easy. Went after it again til it spawned Blms. We had 1 person kite Riko while others killed Blms. After that we went after Riko and killed him.
No real need for a tank job in this unless the person doesn't have another job.
Edit: Key Rewards:
Lv. 50: Platinum Ore
Lv. 70: Phoenix Feather....
Angel Skin Key (75): Adaman Ore
Final: Selenian Cap: Int+6, M.Acc+2, Fast Cast.
Edit: melee attacks only hit me for ~90ish
Quick question to all those who have completed/nearly completed:
Was this add-on better or worse than ACP?
I'm on the fence at forking out the dough, but seeing as the final fight is right up my ally (SCH75 ^.^), and given the fact that the mindless item gathering is at least more diverse, I am tempted to cave in and get it.
Is that because of the fetch quests or do you say that because:
I don't feel that pain. Being a map fiend, I have had this map since I hunted my WHM scroll back in the ancient days when I ran my own shell. I think I have nearly every map, save a few of the harder coffer drops, like Uglypile and Rancor.
The map isn't even the worst part - getting the 9 ???s can take a hell of a lot of running around, Altep'ing, Escaping and zoning in through different entrances, especially if you're unlucky and get a few that are placed in areas accessible only by one-way drops.
Well that's definitely a strike against it to be sure... I'll sit on the sidelines a bit longer. I realize they are stuck for how to make these add-ons without the benefit of a larger development team or new areas, but mindless zone hopping is one big way to suck the fun out of any content.
Thanks for the info ^.^
If you fuck up the last BC, how much of the quests do you have to redo? Do you got to redo Beaucedine Glacier, Xarcabard, Castle Zvahl Baileys, and Keep?
1/70 on Caulk
ffffffffffffff
We entered, but Riko aggro'd us before we could get the dual-boxed MNK in. Took it through the three phases without too much trouble as WHM RDM PLD SAM DRG, but the RDM didn't have enough MP to recast Sleepga once the third wave of Henchman Moogles woke up whilst the melee were zerging the last 50% of Riko's HP. Wipe at 17%, kinda pissed off since it would've been awesome to win with just five on our first go.
That was a pretty common occurrence a couple of years ago, actually. He sent me a PM saying he hated me for it.![]()
No hate PMs yet!

ok, BIG piece of advice for anyone going into the final fight (and I assume this is why DrWaffles only got 5 people in, as well.
Our first attempt, pt leader entered, was immediately aggroed and killed, locking the other 5 of us out.
GM call resolved nothing, leader had to repeat steps.
2nd attempt: I entered first. everyone else entered, once 5th person entered, aggro, locked PLD out, we wiped.
1 thing in common, the person who got aggro on entry was DRG, and had pet out. logs showed pet got hit first
SO: if going into this BC, do not have a wyvern, or likely any pet out when you enter, or you will be really pissed off at redoing the other quests.
