If Fomors have the ability to wreck generals like that, why didn't they just do that the entire war? They seem to have some ridiculous abilities, yet not use them very often.

Spitewardens are not exactly Fomor. They seem to be a new, unique shadow, while Fomors seem to be souls that have yet to be laid to rest from the Crystal War. Or any war really, what with Ephmardian Shades.

I'm curious if Galka and Mithra include the tails sticking out of the snow.

I don't have a screen of my taru but I will say that it was nothing special.

Goddd. I'm on the Bastok line of quests but everyone and their mothers seems to be allied with San D'Oria or Windurst.

    I really, really am intrigued with these missions (heck, I love all the missions!), but I've been stuck on "Fire in the Hole" where you gotta guard Adelheid from all these damn Quadavs. >_>;

After Kupo D'Etat, I'm probably gonna really try to recruit people to progress on with the story because it looks like it's getting pretty intriguing...

After an update is the best time to catch up on missions because there will probably be other people looking to catch up as well for a month or so until the interest slows down. Believe it or not the red mission tag search comment can be useful finding other people to go with as well. It seems like more JP use them than others but it's helped me find groups before. Otherwise it's also common to just bump into other players at the battle area who are probably willing to team up.

    Regarding the story,
    Spoiler: show
I'm thinking that the duo of Robel and Lekho may actually be planning some kind of double-cross. They seem much to informed and keen to the whole chess metaphor. It also seems as though Robel actually has other motives of his own.

I'm doing all 3 lines at once, and everyone I know who is caught up is also doing all 3 quest lines. Your allegiance doesn't matter at all (well, I guess if you're allied with Bastok, you can get to CSs in Bastok faster). I guess it would be even more catching up to do for you, but if you started one or both of the other lines, at least all those people you know that only did Windurst or San d'Oria would be allowed to help with your fights, presuming you could convince them to do so And then when the next version update comes out, finding a group will be easy.

...the possibility that he is the shadow version of Karuha-Baruha (posing as Robel-Akbel), which is not exclusive with him being a Spitewarden -- perhaps in the alternate future, he fails to summon Fenrir, survives the fall of Windurst, and is recruited to the dark side. And just as the Cait Siths have a traitor among them, Robel-Akbel is actually working to doublecross the wardens as well. That weird sallow face of his behind the bandages isn't exactly like the Bearer of Darkness version of Karuha-Baruha, but it's a little similar.

If Lehko Habhoka is the Mithran Spitewarden, he may be in on it as well. Although his presence has sown dissent among the Mithran generals, he also provides crucial advice to Karuha-Baruha in the Windurst-S mission "The Forbidden Path" on how to create the Gleipnir to harness Fenrir.

Then again, I suppose it's always possible there's some twist in it, like Lehko is ensuring Gleipnir's creation so he can steal it, or that the Yagudo need to be defeated for Lilith to take control in the future, or something like that.

    As for Robel-Akbel's motivation?
    Spoiler: show
There's some hints of love between the Star Sibyl and Karuha-Baruha, so maybe (if he is actually alternate Karuha-Baruha) it is to save the her, in a tragic twist since summoning Fenrir will result in his damnation in the Windurst present storyline.

Huh?! I'm pretty sure for Nation missions you need to be from the same allegiance. So in my case, for people to help me out with "Fire in the Hole", all the members need to be from the Bastokian Army...

Can someone please clarify this? I've always thought you needed to be with Bastok if you wanted to do specific Bastok Missions like this one.

I'm San d'Orian by allegiance but have completed all of the San d'Orian and Windurstian quests and am on Fire in the Hole in Bastok. Allegiance is totally irrelevant in the Crystal War except in terms of where you Retrace to and which items are available at what price.

The nation-specific quests aren't missions at all, and so are accessible by anyone as others have stated. Because the actual WotG missions and the nation-specific quests are corequisites, I can see why there might be some confusion. I'm allied with Windurst in the past and my only up-to-date nation quest line is with San d'Oria.

    Spoiler: show

Lilisette and Lilith come from two different realities. Apparently, this kinda thing happens often enough that an entity to devour the less favored realities exists -- Atomos. I think her (their?) dad would have gotten the injury during the battle of Jeuno -- so the fight we participated in? Part of the problem with trying to work things out with the timeline is that the Spitewardens are off trying to speed/screw up the progression of events. Does anyone remember when the actual battle of Jeuno occurred and what events led up to it? Was it not that the Gigas thought Jeuno was weak and decided to attack the city?

The more I think about it, the more I think the Caits originated from Lilith's reality where the war never ended, people were forced to constantly fight and lose loved ones, and people turned away from religion and Altana. We hear Lilith talk about how things are decided by people, not by an omniscient being watching from above. It sounds like Altana saw all the despair and created the Caits to steer Atomos to consume that reality in favor of our more favorable reality. However, Lilith didn't want her world and herself to be consumed into nothingness, so she and her Spitewardens traveled back in time to prevent this from happening and to ensure her reality exists. If ya think about it that way, Lilith doesn't seem all that evil, and although her methods are questionable, having grown up and lived in an era where all she's known is war, a contest between the two identical beings seems pretty logical and reasonable.

Also, as far as Lehko goes, if he's also a Spitewarden, how does the Sinhunter play into that all. For some reason, I thought she was the mother of the trio from CoP, but that might have been purely speculation on my part. But if that is the case, then Lehko can't be a time traveler. And if they are both from Lilith's future, then why would she give him the freedom to do as he wishes? I personally believe Robel-Akbel is actually Robel-Akbel, just from Lilith's reality. In the last Windy CS, Karuha-Baruha brings up the fact that the Robel-Akbel of this reality died near the start of the war. I'm guessing in Lilith's reality, he didn't die, but failed to protect Windy. As a result, he witnessed its destruction and the death of Star Sybil and everyone else. I'm really hoping he ends up not being evil because I really like his character.

Exactly right, I've done all missions and I'm Bastokan... until I get a medal tomorrow and swap to save AN on accessories.

I have to agree the most with you. It seems to me the two different realities/timelines are perfectly opposite from each other. If we think of those who survived in our timeline actually died in Lilth's, and those who died in our time are actually live and suffering pain in Lilth's reality, it makes sense and easier to understand how everything is different. Robel-Akbel/Karaha-Baruha could be examples. Of course Lilisette/Lilth is the only exception since she is the chosen one. (Are they both the same person or people believe they are "sisters"?)

As for Lehko, he doesn't seems to be working with Lilth. Windurst quests have yet to show any trace of him being suspicious as much as Robel-Akbel, besides the sinhunter part. If Robel-Akbel was intended to stop or slow down Karaha-Baruha's reserch by asking Star Sibyl to keep the book of the Gods away from Karaha's eye, Lehko was totally going against Robel's plan by asking us Adventurers and Carbuncle to aid the research.

And about Dynamis and the Hydra Corps...
    Spoiler: show

After reading a few of the previous posts, it brought to my attention to read most of the Vana'diel Tribune to understand more about Crystal War background. This article pretty much statement the Hydra Corps were launching attack in the northlands days and nights. Somehow both the Allied Force and Beastmen Confederate experienced they seemed to be isolated from the rest of the world in the battle ground. From time to time, both forces fought non-stop and soldiers went insane being trapped in this "Dynamis" for so long and change their personalities and beliefs. Good and heart touching stories, recommend everyone to take a look!

Here's part 1 of "Will of the World" (the cutscenes following "Distorter of Time"):

YouTube - FFXI - WotG - The Will of the World - Part 1 of 2

I'll upload part 2 later. You'll have to go HQ and full-screen to read the text without squinting, I think.

I won't upload the battle because we did it the boring way and brought 3 healers and a BRD.

edit: Oops, should've searched before I uploaded. Someone beat me to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvo2XQUNm34

I doubt Lilith came from Dynamis, because she is said to come from an alternate timeline where the war never ended.
now Dynamis, doesn't have time and isn't a reality... from what I know, those who were pulled into dynamis by Diabolos are essentially sleeping for an eternity, and in a form of stasis. and once you're sucked in, there is no escape. Diabolos apparently did this because the fate of the people at war probably must have been too terrible to bear, so he gave them 'peace' by marauding them in dreams.. except that the Shadowlord has corrupted it

Players who do dynamis are different cos.. of the hourglass thing..

    Spoiler: show
Huh. I never knew about Diabolos sucking people into Dynamis during the Battle of Xarcabard/Beaucedine. No wonder we see familiar NMs during Dynamis. Going back to Diabolos pulling people into Dynamis, is that where the animated weapons come from in Xarcabard? I know there aren't any NPCs in the current timeline with them, but I've seen an Aegis and an Amanomurakumo on NPCs during the WotG storyline.

Oh wait, Lilith called Portia "Mother"

    There goes that theory.
