Union Drops

No diffinitive proof on this yet, but it looks like the NMs each have a Drop or set of drops for the union's coffer. This merits investigation.

Had the same thing happen to me earlier with Bakgodek. I'm fairly sure at least one of his main items is Gold Orcmask, since my union had 10 items in pool and the mask was at the top. Perhaps the 100's are a rarity off of them, but yeah, Gold Orcmask on a second occasion from the same NM

I'd say this is a given. The first news entry announcing the union system said something about getting the spoils of vanquished beastmen captains.

Err having become something of a hermit in FFXI, I'm not really sure but atm for the last 6months I've only been campaigning in East Sarutabaruta (S). Is this a bad idea now? Would I have a better chance at better drops like 100s in Grauberg/Passhow?

A friend of mine lost lot on a Jadeshell in Meriphataud Mountains [S] with only 3 people in her Union, I'm not sure how much xp she got, but she also said only 2 other items dropped(nothing good).

guess it is random off the leader of the assaulting group. has it been confirmed player with kill shot gives his/her union its drop?

good idea on s/e part. for awhile people usually avoid wave bosses. warmachine would just chill at the fort while everyone stares at it. now it just gets raped in 5mins or less...

Quick question. I have been noticing along with others, that when the union drop occurs and players start lotting, certain individuals (usually 2) end up having repeated high lots vs other players. Is it possible that the more effort you put into the battle gives you a higher lot over others?

Definately not. That would defeat the purpose of randoming in the first place.

What I'm wondering is why it says "You receive a share of "unionname"'s treasure!" when you're only getting your own Union's loot pool... guessing it's just an error. *shrug*

I was messing around in campaign as SMN, which gives shit AN, and I was lotting terrible, rarely winning anything, and when I did it was with like 600-700 lots on shit half the people pass.

I would regularly see certain pld/dnc and a couple rdm's lotting 900+ on like half the items, saw it with the same people in several different fights.


Went as nin/dnc today, always capped exp/an, was winning all kinds of shit, won 3 items in 2 different battles. Don't think I lotted below 550ish a single time all night. 800-900+ on 3-4 items 2 or 3 different times.


I dunno at this point if it's luck or not.

Are we still gathering data? 1 hrish one in Garliage Citadel: I was only one in Adder Union and I think each other union(out of 5 that appeared) had at 1 person. Must have been like 5-6 people there total. BLM, 4140/2071 (and 452 exp from Op). Was Vee Seju the Consumed's Divine Matyrs. NM was untouched, but we killed a bunch.

Gold Thread and Scorpion Claw in chest. I(therefor my union) didn't score the highest for sure.

i usualy solo stuff, get regular 1000 + exp (specially in idle time curing everything back to full) on rdm.

and I just rolled a 26
then a 300 on the other item.

other zones..992, 800+ etc.. and i only got 500 exp, barely squeaking in.

It appears to work something like:

Every 2000 exp earned by a Union (as a whole) grants 1 item in the coffer.

500 exp earns you access to said coffer.

If the Union's total exp earned doesn't break 2000, no coffer will appear.

Thus, it is not always wise to go solo unless you somehow know you're joining in on a 2000~2500 exp fight. Also, it sucks for you to do 2000~3000exp worth of work, and have another douche join the Union late and do 600exp worth of effort, and yoinks your shit.

one of the fights I was the only one in the bison union... 2000~ or so exp (2 kills on gnats, tanked 1 100%, cured the hell out of the dragon freelancer) and I got 2 drops (hides).

Most zones are packed unless its hitting forts then some pop and leave.

On Kujata, most of the morning group (mostly japanese endgamish looking folk and some spattering of english speaking.)...they run TO the beastmen, leaving anyone who's at the outpost forts with nothing to kill. Yesterday they were almost to the corner in West Saura. before Giddeus when they ran into the beastmen, they didn't even get down the road.


I do see some positive in this, higher chance of the bcnms being active for more weeks in a row, until people start getting bored of this like they did with Beseiged.

Nobody gets bored of potential money. (Mainly currency and 100 pieces because everything else is bombing fast)

Is there a list anywhere with the locations where the coffers spawn in each area? I can never seem to find the damn chests and if i'm alone in a Union it just gets wasted.
