My parrying went up from 212 to 214 last night while exploring the new zones. Could have just been a fluke though.

So... tell me what you added?

OT: I didn't know it was low-skills only, sue me. But, I did level scythe from 139+ most recently and didn't notice a difference to be honest. Maybe I'll try to up my 60 guard skill <_<

I was on Ninja, haven't used the job in ages though. Pretty sure the only 2 skills I don't have capped on ninja is Throwing and Parrying. Parrying can be pretty random, so could very well have just been the luck of the draw.

It is possible that instead of a strict 200 barrier, it varies by job. For example, maybe you get the skillup boost up until whatever your job would cap at at level 65. In that scenario, your NIN could be eligible for the parrying bonus up into the low 200s, but your club skillups would have stopped receiving the bonus way before 200.

You're right though, it could have been luck.

Took my 25 blu out last night for an hour or so before work drew me away. I think i was at around 70 blue magic skill... killing even/tough bees outside jeuno, i was getting .1-.3 on almost every spell. Definetly a big improvement, I'll be capped in no time.

On my RDM in Qufim, my sword was pitifully underleveled, was getting skillups on a good percentage of my hits, including a few fast blades where I got skillups on BOTH hits. I definately notice a big difference

Use your SMN on some hnm's man.

I was like 5-10 from cap when they started letting pacts and whatnot skill it, capped it in like 2 days without a single "skillup" session.

Parrying went from 124 to 129
Shield went from 83 to 114

Doesn't seem to make much sense.

A key piece of data is missing - how many times did you parry attacks? How many times did you shield block?

You were using the smallest size shield (a perfect choice, of course) so I wouldn't be surprised if you had 5+ shield blocks for every parried attack.

I know it's tough to parse shield blocks. The best you can do is look for lines where you took < X points of damage and assume those are the blocks.

Because nobody invites MNKs to xp parties anymore, I have been soloing the last few levels, 2k at a time, in FoV. That bad part is it makes me rage. The good part is that I get Guard skillups. But I had never gotten anything like this until yesterday, which just happened to be post-patch. This could be dumb luck, or it could be a sign of improvement. Blah blah small sample size, etc. Still, this has gotta give some people some hope, seeing as how I'm still way too low to level to be skilling up on mobs this level. I can only imagine that my results would be better if I was skilling on level-appropriate mobs.

Looks like procs on 3 out of 4 attacks, with one of them a double attack.

Wow, I never saw a 0.4 or 0.5 the whole time when I capped my guard. Maybe I was unlucky

It's because your image has a lot of white or transparent pixels around it (both under it and to the right). The part of your image that we can see is 485x218 but the whole thing is 800x600.

I took Healing from 236 to 268 (75 whm) the other night on a General in Besieged, 236-251 absolutely flew by with .5s every 1-2 casts. It dropped off immediately and I spent the next ~1.25 hours of Besieged getting it to 268 (half hour left in that Besieged plus another 45 min in the following one later that night). I'm speculating that the cutoff is lvl 70 for the enhanced skill up rate. I don't have anything else low enough to test this on (Guard only), can someone else duplicate this with another magic skill in Besieged?

So it's been confirmed that you can skill up on a 75 job and still get the boost for skills that are under the cap for low-mid level range? You don't actually have to be on a low-mid level job, right?

You could always get a lot of skill ups on healing from NPCs. This is nothing new, and does not have anything to do with the update.
