Who the fuck uses Tank jobs in a merit party?
and really, 1 dispel from the bard (they can do so on the pull, duh), 1 from the red mage, and paralyna takes all of 2 seconds to cast... how is this hard for anyone used to actually meriting on something that isn't a complete and utter joke (ie: lolibris make mages really fucking lazy)
what are Ruszor like to xp on? i saw some people killing some in beauc today on my way up there, and saw several large groups of VT Savage Ruszor in xarcabard that looked setup for a nice little xp camp.
there will never be colibri version 2 guys, we have to accept it as such
AoE terror move and a few conal attacks. We were duoing Ts last night and obv they were only T, but w/o any kinda of bar up they weren't doing a whole lot with their AoE water attack. I imagine the AoE terror would screw things up a bit, but other than that it wasn't too bad.
I'm sorry but unless the Wings areas give you AN for killing normal mobs like you get CP or AS then it's not worth meriting there.
This. The only camp I have found that I enjoy meriting in [S] regions is La Vaule, but with no AN for xp'ing in those zones, the fact it takes longer to get to, and you need a decked out pty to come close to matching pick up pty xp in ToAU just makes it not worth the effort. If they would allow AN to be gained from Sigil xp in those areas, I would be all over them - as it is, I detest campaign so the rewards that can be continually gained from AN just aren't worth my time at this point.
While I wouldn't champion meriting there over any of the ToAU areas, it certainly would make for a better alternative than nothing. The ladybug/colibri camp in the late 30's is a perfect example of it.
(This is of course assuming there's something that you can at least hit 20k/hr or comparable.)
The hole area seems to be made for merits and exp. Everything is from a range of T-VT.
I do think that we should get AN's when we kill mobs but, why is that a big deal? Some people said they had over 1mil AN's. Do not know how great but its very easy to get to any of the camps.
WOTG has cooler battle music, that's all the incentive I need.
For the people that like campaign, great... for a lot of us, we don't have enough play time to be happy with 5-7k? xp per hour when the rewards are not even comparable to merits for the most part. (I know some of the Iron Ram gear is nice for PLD - good for PLD. The rest of the gear/rewards are mostly trash.)
it's lv68 gear, it really shouldn't beat out lv75 ra/ex gear to be honest, it's good some (most of them) do beat out some of the lv50-65 gear. Why Iron Ram Body is better then most of the lv75 stuff probably makes the least since
Gargoyles could also prove to be a pretty nice camp for a merit party of 4-5 or a blue burn. They have some nasty AOEs while flying, but I know that at least 1 does not strip shadows. They are really mild while on the ground, with the Attack up, a drain move that goes through shadows and can do up to 700 damage, and a 10-15 second gaze terror. They were easily stunned on blue, and they gave 50-90 exp with a full alliance. Definitely worth trying out once the initial wave of blues get their spells.
Would have to examine Xarc to see if they have a camp for them. Perhaps the best news, they may be piercing weak (if flying is the usual indicator).
Walruses are absolute torture. Most moves stripped shadows or took a minimum of 2, the terror move was potent and came with 400 or so damage. They were hitting my blue for 200-350 and they weren't going down super fast either. Not sure what hte point of adding them was.
This was in Beau Glacier along the coast.
Sub-Zero Smash is only used if you take hate from the sides or tail so that move is fully avoidable if you position to avoid it however Hydro Wave was removing gear (reminds me of Merrow's Torrent ability) and the physical immunity was an additional effect of a TP move for sure. (I think it lasts while the mist barrier stays up)
TP moves may be determined by Ruszor size since the small ones weren't too bad but large ones were kicking the ass. In general, they hit hard (Ts hitting for 200 to a BLU is hard imo), have double attack and the added terror took a *long* time to wear. They also absorb water/ice attacks much like Puks absorb wind attacks. (Perhaps they have an elemental TP bonus like Puk?)
These things in general behaved weird and I really think that weather/size plays a part in what TP moves get used but I could be wrong. Maybe Frozen Mist is only used during Ice weather?
Fairly certain they are slashing weak too - was hitting 1600+ GK ws's on the VT ones just 2boxing a WHM.
Oh? The ones I fought didn't absorb Frost Breath, it just did low damage or 0 (when magic shield was up.) Then again, maybe Breaths are special.
They have different modes. They start in a neutral mode, but using Aqua moves will switch it to Water mode, and using Frost moves will switch it into Ice mode. You can see bubbles and frost around it during the different modes, and that causes it to absorb those elements. It won't use Sub-Zero Smash with bubbles up, and it won't use the Fang attack with frost up.
