That's hell for a NIN and a nightmare for a PLD.
A BLU can solo these mobs easy. They seem to be weak to Blunt, I did a CA FR for 980, and I almost oneshotted it. A couple of Head butts and a Disserverment and it was dead for 150 exp. I fought it and I wasnt even ready to fight it. Didnt have to worry about Ice spikes since I didnt engage.

Sub-Zero Smash is only used if you take hate from the sides or tail so that move is fully avoidable if you position to avoid it however Hydro Wave was removing gear (reminds me of Merrow's Torrent ability) and the physical immunity was an additional effect of a TP move for sure. (I think it lasts while the mist barrier stays up)

TP moves may be determined by Ruszor size since the small ones weren't too bad but large ones were kicking the ass. In general, they hit hard (Ts hitting for 200 to a BLU is hard imo), have double attack and the added terror took a *long* time to wear. They also absorb water/ice attacks much like Puks absorb wind attacks. (Perhaps they have an elemental TP bonus like Puk?)

These things in general behaved weird and I really think that weather/size plays a part in what TP moves get used but I could be wrong. Maybe Frozen Mist is only used during Ice weather?
Hydra Wave is the AoE water move right? Strange that I never noticed it stripping gear, but it may have just been from blinking enough it didn't matter (I guess since it never removed a weapon). I guess I recant on saying they might be worth meriting on, but we absolutely tore through the few we fought; sucks, I was hoping for a walrus party. :/

Terror lasts about 5-7 secs, it's really awful.
They also have lotsa HP and fairly high attack (hit me for 350ish unbuffed), yet their evasion/accuracy is laughable, on NIN/DNC with no katana merits and in evasion gear I only had to recast Ni after a tp move and no problems hitting them.

It also strips shadows, and does about 300 damage. You can kill them fairly fast, and you can stun the TP moves. If that Terror move gets off, expect a couple of deaths or a wipe though.

could they be manaburned? like a pudding camp 2? tp moves become largely irrelevant unless they have to be nuked something like 10 times. do they have MP? + move speed?

pld, sam love etc ... the usually SE stuff you know. Otherwise the plds would start bitching.

The physical immunity is similar to Diamondhide by means of the fact that it cannot be dispelled. My friend and I were able to Duo a T on BLU...they are very manageable UNTIL they use the Frost move which is heavy Ice Dmg (400-500) plus terror. The terror lasts anywhere from 7-15 seconds. We wiped at 1%. We joined a group of 15 BLU's for spell farming. You probably could merit on these, however, the AoE Terror is a pain and you CAN get around it by having someone sleep the mob after AoE Terror so that no one gets attacked while being terrorized.

From what I could see about walruss mobs, the aqua shield went up always after the AoE water strip damaging move (sorry, i can't remember the name). Aqua shield not only makes them absorb water damage but also inmune to magical damage (unsure about enfeebles). This includes Attonement and similar weapon skills.

On the other hand, ice shield would go up after every terrorga move (again, can't remember the name). This makes them melee inmune, just like invincible. Added effects and magic still do damage and it lasts around 1 minute, maybe a bit less. The terror is long lasting and it can easily kill your tank if you are not prepared (or if there's no one out of melee range, obviously). Under Ice shield they absorb ice damage. Water damage still works normaly.

As for Sub Zero Smash, there didn't seem to be a need to actualy be behind it to trigger it, although I would say that being behind probably makes the monster do it more. I saw these mobs do sub zero a number of times and never hit anyone since no one was behind at all.

Bunch of cointeaches over by where the wall of death pull would be. Also, very good black mage solo spot right @ the gate to castle zvahl (demon's elemental).

I could see the Gargouilles up towards the Xarc[S] zone in Beaucedine Glacier being a decent Manaburn Camp. They have relatively low HP, weren't noticeably resistant to any magic(my RDM nukes were usually doing full damage), and seemed to hit fairly light. Also fully susceptible to gravity, paralyze, slow, etc, and have ridiculously high evasion(melee deterrent).

Only issue I can see is that I think the Gargouilles are aggressive to magic.

    walrus absorb darkness dmg.

as in, done a SC, had the SC: darkness, The Ruszor recoveres 498 hit points!

don't SC darkness on them if you merit there!

isn't on the wiki yet either

Could this have something to do with absorbing Ice/Water damage at varying points?

most of the CP/AN stuff isn't worth that much, and the points needed for most that are even worth a fair amount of gil take more time to earn then doing some real farming.
