5 swings at 492 delay = 2460
4 swings at 551 delay = 2204
So it is closer to 10% than 20%, but it still beats 5% hit rate even assuming that their accuracy is uncapped and that they even have a black tathlum which wasn't mentioned at all <_<

With this TP set, Turban or Champion's Galea(10 Accuracy/3%Haste)? Obviously don't have Ace's, lost todbut when I get Ace's I'd probably replace it. I also don't have 8/8 GKT merits just yet.

With that set (and no GKT merits) your accuracy is uncapped just about everywhere so
100swings*.94acc=94.00 hits landed with Galea
102swings*.89acc=90.78 hits landed with Walahra
in the same amount of time.
.94 and .89 are random accuracy values picked to convey the full addition of 10 accuracy
A few points:
1. If you add L Torque and Black Tathlum, you get 3% Delay Reduction from Sword Strap without reducing 6-Hit build if using Thalasso (Though I don't prefer this set up). This effectively makes it:
59 Delay Reduction + 3% Delay Reduction + 5ACC + 8DEX + 2DMG + 10ATT (Yes the STR-3 from Chiv)
2. In order to gain 22TP on WS, you need a base hit of 19TP+3 from extra hits (Drakesbane). This means you'll need 31sTP in WS gear minimum. No matter how you look at it, you'll be WSing in Askar Body. Moreover, this disallows you from using a Max Crit Jump Set (This is achievable depending on the mob).
3. Whenever someone says 5-Hit build, I would always assume they mean a true 5-Hit build. In short, you and the poster are the only people here who regard 5-Hit Builds as including WS.
4. The set in question requires that you land all four hits of Drakesbane in order to maintain a Pseudo-5-Hit Build. You're looking at 34sTP with a TP base of 14.6TP/hit. I'll do the math for you and arrive at 19.5TP/Hit. You need 22TP from WS to maintain 5-Hit Build right? That means you need *all* hits to land arriving at 22.5TP. Miss one hit and you're short a 5-Hit build. What's even worse is that you have to WS in *all* of your sTP gear in order to achieve this Pseudo-5-Hit Build."Should give me enough store TP 5 hit with room for 1 hit to miss on WS."
It will, all you'll need from WS is 22TP to maintain a 5-hit with that setup.
Chiv Chain instead of WS Gorget
Askar Body instead of Zahak's Mail
White Tathlum instead of Black Tathlum
Ecph Ring instead of Flame Ring
Gae Bolg instead of Thalasso
If using another set up, Rose instead of Pole Grip
What happens when you miss a hit? Back to 6-Hit Build with *more* delay than the standard build. In short, you're banking on a Pseudo-5-Hit Build by gimping your DoT (Unlike SAM, DRG's Melee:WS is much less) and gimping your WS.
What's better?
Vbow
71 DMG, 490 DELAY, 3STR/AGI, +23ratt, +2racc
vs
Fay Gendawa
72 DMG, 540 DELAY, 4STR, +12ratt, +4% ws damage?
I'm thinking vbow but I'm not sure. :/
I started a thread and got rerouted here (it's fucking late as hell ok?). The +4% ws damage is pretty nice, especially if you get MKD hat with 2% on it. I was wondering the same thing, except trade Vbow for Sbow. If anyone can enlighten us on the relationships between Vbow/Sbow/Fay that would be wonderful. Only thing I see here that would make me think Fay is the ws dmg +.
working on gearing RNG up before I hit endgame. Was wondering, what would be better on endgame content (Odin, Sky, Protos, etc), a 6-hit EBow/6-Hit Hellfire build that does more damage per individual shot, or a 5-Hit EBow/5-Hit Hellfire build that i can knock off more Slugwinders, but be drawing more enmity?
rng question regarding the ACP body and MKD head:
assuming 5/5 rapid shot merits and 5/5 snapshot merits, is it worthwhile to get the ACP body (i'm guessing i'd probably go ratt+10 for the 2nd augment) and MKD head (w/ the +4 str and ws acc for the second augment).
so all that build-up: i have both af1 hat and af2 body, which i tend to wear for tping when i have little/no acc issues.
will the 8% snapshot enhancement outparse the rapid shot (the body's 5%, i'm assuming the hat is somewhere between 3-5%) build?
if not, i'll likely just go for the extra +2 str, not having to use wyvern helm for rng ws and shura kabuto for mnk, and go from there, wishing that i didn't have to choose between sam and mnk/rng.
Kupo BLM Hat:
INT+4 MAB+2 beats the INT+6 Fast Cast+2 right?
Alright so my MNK's currently level 72, and I'm only missing Adamantoise Egg for my Black Belt (all prereqs are done and such, just waiting for that fucking mob to put out).
I have almost everything for Monk, I'm just waiting to ding into my levels. My gear is going to look somewhat like this when I ding to 75:
Main: Destroyers
Ranged: Tiphia Sting
Head: Walahra Turban
Neck: Chivalrous Chain*
Earring 1: Brutal Earring
Earring 2: Triumph Earring (have Suppa for NIN and THF)
Body: Shura Togi
Hands: Ochimusha Kote (currently trying to get Xolotl to put out as wel for Bandosl)
Ring 1: Rajas Ring
Ring 2: Sniper's Ring
Back: Amemet Mantle +1*
Waist: Black Belt
Legs: Byakko's Haidate*
Feet: Sarutobi Kyahan*
When it comes to Monk I'm still relatively new. For my back piece, would it be better to get a Forager's or a Charger's Mantle?
Also, I've always assumed that having 25% haste is better than using Dune Boots, unless its for Dragon Kick?
Should I bother macroing in Shura Haidate for WS or just stick with the 15 Dex bonus on Byakko's Haidate?
I'm currently saving up for a Peacock Charm since it helps out all 3 of my 75 jobs, but is Faith Torque worth getting?
Also, Salvage Gear. Whats worth getting for MNK that comes from Salvage? Nothing really appeals to my interests from Salvage.
Yea get PCC for your MNK, and screw the Triumph Earring, get Hollow if you wanna be serious I guess, anyways ATT & ACC Earrings will get you further then STR+2 in most situations there.
And yea, full Usu if / when possible, do Feet first if you can.
Don't forget about Noritsune Kote before you get Usu Gote, use it for TP / WS (depending on mob)til you get merits and more gear, and TP with it when Focus is down + switch to ATT gloves when Focus is available.
Also, use Spellcast or do several Asuran Macros, some with more ATT some with more ACC and more mixed sets, and don't forget that Asuran won't always own everything so gear up for Howling Fist as well.
I'd have to say spellcast is doing it wrong when it comes to mnk and asuran, but that's just me. Unless you can program it to read a parse and use the best choice of my 6 asuran macros, based on my current hitrate.
I agree with you, I just added the option, I love smashing my Asuran Macros lol.
For a Blue Mage head piece for big three spells, which is better? (Disseverment, Frenetic Rip, Hysteric Barrage and/or Vorpal blade ws)
Gnadbhod's Helm (6 str, 4 dex, 8 attack)
vs
Anwig Salade w/ Accuracy+10 Attack+5, STR+4 Weapon Skill Accuracy +15
vs
Anwig Salade w/ DEX+4 Increases critical hit damage (+2%), STR+4 Weapon Skill Accuracy +15
Are physical blue magic spells affected by regular accuracy or by critical hit damage? Or is it just affected by main hand weapon accuracy?
