The point is that the 'work' put into obtaining salvage drops/relics/etc. vs FoV augments is still just time and luck. The idea that it's substantially less time or luck to obtain the FoV is a fantasy, and getting paranoid that it lessens the status of the 'old school' gear is hilarious.

So much of the status given to rare, high end gear is 100% accounted for by your luck, and to see such lucky folk whine about other folk who have yet to get lucky is quite the farce.

Already addressed this rubbish before you even posted it. Just because getting drops from endgame events takes luck doesn't mean it's at all comparable to getting drops from FoV. Honestly I don't even know why I stepped into this debate - I don't even personally care about this issue, I just hate watching people with legitimate concerns being trolled/flamed by bandwagoners lead by a group of hard-headed big-mouths with the notion that anyone who enjoys the game whilst having item-oriented goals must be a self-deluding idiot.

I've been reading BG for months, it hasn't changed much. Have you ever thought that perhaps the problem is you? You've seriously crapped up like 3 or 4 threads related to this update.

The fuss started over this augment is so stupid. It doesn't even come close to full morrigan's set, which most people who have the body will have. It is pretty interesting to me though (as SCH), in hopes I can get some comparable gear to some salvage pieces that I have no access to.

500~ Tabs = 5 high end FoV pages completed = at least 5 hours worth of FoV time, not counting the ability to afk in between flagging pages.

Elite regime = 1 per day (real life day).

So that's 5 hours per day for 1 try per day besides the time to get the gear you're LITERALLY throwing away in the hopes it doesn't get ruined.

If this item was gained by someone doing the once a day ACP/Kupo augment farms which take maybe 30 minutes, I would understand the bitching a little more.

As it is, the guy put in some effort to do this, believe it or fucking not...

Anyways, I don't have a Morrigans robe yet on Uryuu because QQTH's never dorp, but I have to say this really is rather disappointing. Taking something and augmenting it that well... It's just a bit of a let down. I'm sure spending a lot of time in salvage isn't something some aspire/want to do, but for those of us who have spent countless hours in salvage trying to get specific pieces only to see them get almost matched by something like FOV... Orz.

I see people from the Spam forum arguing and debating both sides of the issue, so your Spam Forum comment holds no ground. Really, this has been a good discussion, so it looks like you are just hating on those people for no reason.

Ever consider that I might actually be justified, rather than just being an easy flame target because I expressed dissatisfaction? I do agree on one thing, though - the amount of panic generated by this one augment is pretty unreasonable. But if people's fears are confirmed, they'll have every right to complain as much as they like.

Are you suggesting that folks getting good augments are in the group that do not "enjoy playing the game" (quotes added because it's doublespeak for the even more nebulous 'hardcores' crying over the new aguments) and don't have the same item-oriented goals? Everyone who invests time in an MMO has item-oriented goals. If you don't you might as well be in an IRC channel causing pain to yourself once every 24 hours, it's about the same experience as hating the MMO you're not really playing.

Seriously, in the time we've been bitching in this thread, you could have almost gotten the tabs for one Elite regime, and tossed an item into the random number pit.

I'd take my chances with Salvage, at least I know sooner or later, after spending millions of gil, I'll get my fucking robe with exactly the stats I'm expecting.

Maybe I'd toss a weskit at FoV once every couple of days, and if I get lucky and don't NEED to finish a robe? Free gil party! Beer and Hookers for all!

Oh, good, so we agree that there's nothing bad or threatening about the RNG pit of FoV that sometimes spits out well-augmented gear. Nothing that should threaten the RNG pit of Salvage that sometimes spits out your chance to spend millions upgrading a Salvage set, anyway.

I have never once stated concern over comparing this to other players, in any way. I could care less if someone gets an awesome item from FoV - great for them. I've said half a dozen times now I can see why certain people like this new system it does not appeal to me in the sense that it could potentially render a lot of the events I enjoy mostly useless.

It's convenient of you to continually gloss over these points and then make assumptions about me feeling superior to players that get items from Bonanza etc. - I've never once said anything of the kind, nor do I care how they got the items. If you are going to try to make an argument/ discussion out of this, at least argue the facts ffs - I could just as easily start an argument that I assume you are a pedo and no one will care when you die because of such.

This is FFXI. Using dissatisfaction as grounds for flaming someone isn't that easy, as almost all players are not satisfied in some way (for instance, I am NIN and so far I think the new abilities aren't that great); however, you appear to just be raging and looking for more reasons to be pissed off about this update.

Has anyone tried augmenting Errant Body yet? (SCH needs upgrades too)

this and only this, I cannot stress how random and time consuming it can be to actually gather Tabs and hope for a wished stat you wanted! 20 drone earrings traded and the best I got for my cor was a lousy +1 ranged accuracy, after 20 tries... thats 20x250 tabs = 5000 tabs! (50 hours of training regimes since they net you like ~100 tabs) So everyone who is bitching about this weskit has no clou how random augments can be and doesnt do much/any FoV at all!
