How is it not? Someone that put minimal effort into gearing their character should never deserve something as rare as a Dring over someone who has spent years gearing and maxing their character.

I realize that the very nature of this game contradicts that, but that doesn't mean I have no right to complain about it. Again, I don't think such a thing will ever be fixed. But that doesn't mean that by nature, its design isn't pretty poor.

I rather like assault point-style items, which take into account the amount of work you've actually done (based on points) before you can get an item. But to stand here and say that you don't think it's an utter travesty that some shitty PLD can get the most rare and sought after item without putting nearly as much effort as more than half the other PLDs on the server just because of random luck is pretty asinine.

This augment system is designed for casual players to get gear SIMILAR not better, not even equal to other endgame gear, but similar enough to be worthwhile spending their time, and allows them to feel like they are geared well. That's all it is. They won't give you a damn D. ring stats, if they did, why not have all your LS's PLD's spam that shit to get one?

As long as the reward was from a new NM, not soloable in a new area and not exactly the same as old items no, i wouldn't be complaining. Even if it was 1/10th the work of the item it replaced.

Take a couple hours away from BG, come back, reread what you've written in the last ~4 pages, and if you still actually believe it's beneficial and worth your time to keep arguing, then by all means do so.

On topic, it seems like a very strong update gear-wise. I saw a +18 fire resist Weskit, which gives the potential for extremely strong resistance sets (that may no longer require Carol - a very big improvement). Also, Light and Dark sets would be more viable with a perfectly augmented set for things like Meteor (Dark) potentially.

For stats, the biggest draw I can think of would be Hagun and Elemental Staves. It seems that you can get any stat that doesn't already appear on the item, so like +MND on an terra/aquilo's staff would be pretty amazing. Also, general +INT stats on any HQ staff not Aquilos/Apollos/Plutos, particularly Jupiter's would increase your nuke strength.

EDIT: If you can trade HQs to this, potentially with amazing luck, the best nuking body on BLM is now a Genie Weskit with +6 INT augment? For both pure damage and accuracy.
