Not sure about this since I don't know exactly what the elemental resists do (Aside from resisting nuke DMG of that element), but here's some questions:

Do elemental resists count for debuffs? If not, Magic Evasion might.

Do elemental resists act similar to DEF and Magic EVAs to evasion (Cannot "Half resist", only full resist)?

How does each (Elemental Resists and Magic EVAs) work in relation to 1k Needles, Breath Attacks, and Debuffs?

Maybe nukes are like Multi-Hit WS in that they check for Magic ACC at multiple stages? It would make sense going with the idea of Elemental Resist (DEF) and Magic EVAs (Evasion). Just ideas not facts.

Yes, they do. Barblizzara for Paralyze, etc.

No. Magic resists are always a 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, or 1/32 potency for damage and debuffs alike.

1,000 needles is a physical attack when Cactaurs are concerned, so no effect. Breath attacks can be resisted like all other elemental damage on the above fractional scale. Debuffs as well.

No. Spells have very precise damage based on a target's MDEF, INT/MND, and damage resistance in relation to the caster's stats. Unlike melee damage, you can calculate the exact damage and possible resist values if you know the caster and target variables. Any resist will be on a fractional basis.

Cool stuff on the info. 1k Needles by a BLU is a Magic Spell (Opposed to Physical) and doesn't have Duration/Half Resists, so I was looking at it as a spell for possible tests.
