But for that matter, if the system did work akin to what I was suggesting above (pay an "un-augment" fee for FoV), there'd still be a risk. It'd just be the risk of paying the un-augment fee rather than the risk of having a multi-million gil item with undesirable stats (or desirable stats that you later want to liquidate). And it's just my judgement that such a risk would be more proportionate to the corresponding perks. That's not the same as wanting something for nothing.
