Name of the JP? i can try and track him down too.
Well 'lo and behold~ http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...810_183204.png
Must say, I want those god damn gloves.
My issue with this assumption is I recall from years ago when I used to full time a scorpion harness on ninja, extremely low level goblins or worms would land paralyze/bind on me with fairly high accuracy. And that is just -20 ice resistance. And going by the level C/C- skill assumption, -20 resist would be close to being lvl67/65 (not even considering base stats, possible level correction, etc). Could have all just been bad luck, but it's a fairly simple test to run that could add to the understanding of the resistance model.
Well here's the thing. From what I've read, once you have 90 more magic evasion than the mob has magic accuracy, your magic evasion is capped, which means spells cast on you for that particular element will be resisted 95% of the time. If you were fighting a BLM type mob maybe level 40+ I can see the resists being much lower. But you probably just saw the 5% which for para and bind, would be partial resists resulting in the enfeebles only lasting a short time.
My question is, if someone has the Pld Augment sword with Flash+10 on it. When flash kicks in from the sword, would it generate enmity onto the pld?
No, added effects do not generate Enmity apparently.
Otherwise Excal would be EVEN BROKEDEDER!
Going by the current model:
75 Taru DRG/RDM base 66 INT 114 Enfeebling Magic
75 Taru MNK/NIN base 61 INT
In the case of sleep:
Your Accuracy = 114 + (66-61) = 119
MNK/NIN Dark Magic Evasion = 225(natural) - 20 - 20 (Dual snipers) = 185
50 - 0.5*(185-119) = 17% success to land sleep for full duration
17*(1-(17/100) = 14.11 partial resist
100*(1-(17/100))^2 = 73.10 Full resist
So
17% Full duration on Sleep
14.11% Partial Resist on Sleep
68.89 Full resist on Sleep.
That means you land sleep with roughly 31% accuracy.
Hmmm I'm Elvaan, and I never resisted (Even if they had PCC instead of Snipers). Granted, I didn't test, but I would think with a 23.4% landing rate (Or is this accuracy onry?) I would notice a lot more resists. Never tested it though since it always seemed to land (And back then people didn't do tests). Wonder if Ballista just reformulates it like with damage?
Ballista is bad place to test ya, the best place is All-seeing Onyx Eye NM which charms constantly, and as a taru you can get charmed and then not even get aggro after it wears. Take a taru friend and test anything in the game on him, granted it would take a while because the charm doesn't last very long so you would have to have him continue to get charmed constantly in order to test everything but imo it is the best possible way to test anything currently.
Meet Barone hands. Something very similar has been available for some time now..
Barone Manopolas - FFXIclopedia, the Final Fantasy XI wiki - Characters, items, jobs, and more
(With 6DEX instead of 4acc)
Also, not wasting 200-400k a pop and actually making profit from the crafting items which drop from it.
because Thf drk bst sam nin cor and dnc would absolutely hate to have those right? Even the homam jobs gained something since they get atk+5 over the homam.
I honestly have no idea which piece of gear you were trying to point out the existence of. Barone Manopolas, which you linked to, have Attack+4 Parrying+4 Enmity+1. Homam Hands (which are more likely what you meant) have Haste+3% and Accuracy+4, but there's no DEX involved, so I don't know what your DEX+6 comment is about. In fact, the only gloves at all that give DEX+6 are all AF+1 gloves.
