It wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly good either. If you are a fan of the game lore, you will probably like it enough. The CGI and action scenes were fun at the very least.

my short & honest review of Warcraft movie, as a fan who is pretty familiar with Warcraft lore.

Spoiler: show

Pros:
-A lot of the CGI scenes are gorgeous.
-Lots of Warcraft easter eggs.
-Orcs looks great
-I got the feels couple of times from the story.
-The movie mostly stays true to the original source
-The magic effects looks awesome

Cons:
-There are a lot of miscasting. Garona and Medivh to name a couple
-Actors/Actresses vocal accents are all over the place, should've either gone with all american accents or british accents, not mixed.
-Editing are terrible, some parts of the movie feels really disconnected from the rest.
-Plots feels really rushed, and with terrible editing on top of that, moments that could have been powerful emotional scene are cut short to progress the story.
-Some set pieces and practical effects looks REALLY bad, some looks like it's a set of a broadway show (not kidding, it really did looked like a broadway show set), and painfully apparent where the real set pieces end and CGI begins.
-Straight make up Garona was a mistake, she looks like a really bad cosplay with dollar store fangs.

If you don't know any Warcraft lore, or doesn't play any Warcraft game, this is more like a 4/10 movie, if you are a Warcraft fan this is probably in the 6.5/10 range.

There are positives but they are comically outweighed by some obvious mistakes in my opinion. If I didn't know farrrrr too much about the universe it would have been painful.

Medivh. He was talking about traveling to the ends of the planet and beyond to find love. I thought it was a really bad way to say Medivh went to Durotar and impregnated Garona's mom. I could be totally wrong, and I hope I am.

Unrelated, was it just me or did the golem's arm look like an infernal when its one arm went in the corrupted mana well?

Going to add some to this, as I enjoyed the movie far more then I thought I would.

I agree the set pieces looked really weird, like all of the Stormwind shields when they are in the armory, they just look really cheesy and like a cosplay item or something. The editing and some of the acting felt off, I will say the orc acting though was really well done. I would say it was a 7/10. Not the best video game movie but for all the issues it had getting started and what the final product was I was fairly impressed.

As another easter egg, Kargath is shown when the orcs come through the portal as well I believe, friends were talking about it

Yeah almost 100% sure that's what was being referenced, and it's stupid.

With the special effects for fel magic though, I would really want to see them do an Arthas storyline, it's one of their best lore moments in the eyes of most fans and I think it would be amazing

Saw it. Not a diehard lore person, so can't speak to that (WC 1 & 2 memory hazy, never played 3 or WoW).

Not a bad movie. Much better than BvS.
Anyone going "THIS IS BAD!" "Shit Movie" "Fucking Awful", is someone you don't need to listen to.
It's not Inception, it's not Spider-Man 2, it's not even Deadpool, but it's fucking fine.
It's better than the Dungeons & Dragons films, either of them.
