Wild Arms XF (crossfire, lulz) is a pretty decent SRPG once you get over the "wtf, hex tiles?!" part.

Boku no Natsuyasumi 4
try as I might, I could not get into Patapon for the life of me. I'm normally all for wacky, off the wall games that are innovative and new but I seriously couldn't get past the first stage. Maybe I just lack rhythm.
I hated the first Miracle level in Patapon 1. But god damn did it make me play Fever like a mother fucker afterward.
I like the star ocean games on the PSP
I might be reading this wrong, but it's possible to transfer the saves directly from ps3 to psp. When I transfered castlevania and ffvii to my psp, I was able to also go in and copy my saves for both games on my ps3 harddrive to my psp and they both worked fine and copied completely.
Wipeout Pure/Pulse are my favourites. Other than those...

Final Fantasy Tactics
Final Fantasy 7 spinoff
and Virtua Tennis.
Dissidia is very satisfying and I played the whole thing through in Japanese. So it should be even more enjoyable in English.
I put a deposit down for the Dissidia bundle today, so I can't wait for that. I think I'm going to download FFVII from PSN also. Do I need to do that through PS3 or can I get it straight to the PSP?
Also, is Final Fantasy Tactics on PSP better than the one on DS? I thought Tactics A2 was decent, but the quests seemed rather tedious sometimes and I didn't care much for the story in it. I've never played the original tactics.
Can buy straight from PSN on the PSP, might be faster to do it now on the PS3 though since PSP's wifi isn't the fastest, and FF7 is a fair-sized title.
Tactics on PSP is a port of the PSX original, with a couple classes tuned, a couple class additions, and some stupidly difficult end-game missions........for co-op only. >.>
FFT on PSP is alright, but my largest complaint is a) Nothing was done to help speed up the pace of battles (this is a portable platform, can't expect everyone to have an AC handy), and b) For every single ability in the game being used, the frame-rate slows down 50% for some retarded reason, making everything take longer to occur than it should.
If you have your PSP homebrew enabled you can get all the Final Fantasys up to 9 on your PSP, which is pretty cool.
The image posted above really is the gospel, in terms of PSP only titles. Patapon, Loco Roco, Metal Gears, Grand Theft Autos, Monster Hunters and Wipeout definately worth getting!
If I were to download it on the PSP first, could it be transferred to PS3? Also, I'm not sure about homebrewing yet, but what size memory stick would you guys recommend? The bundle comes with 2gb but I was thinking of getting at least 4, but if 8gb would last a while, $50~ used isn't bad from Gamestop.
Necroing the fuck out of this, PSP RPG reccomendations, I dont like SRPG's at all. Other games are good too.
Brave Story
Also keep in mind, I havent owned a PSP since they were released, so Ive missed out on pretty much everything, when I had one it had no games. Persona 3 and Kingdom hearts have me wanting one again.
not an RPG but chains of olympus
Yes I need to play chains of Olympus for sure, and I am going to edit that, but Im mostly looking at RPG's.
