Would this be a good idea for people who play organized sports? I absolutely hate going to the gym.
I have a friend who uses P90X. He's actually one of the people in the before after pictures. It does work but one really receives the full benefit if they adhere to a strict diet plan. As for using it with organized sports? I'd say you can find something more effective depending on what sport it is that you play. I used to play organized basketball in college and for that it was a routine of plyometrics and strength training. P90X is just a bit of everything and not enough of one thing.
It is a decent program if you stick to it.
Anyone else uses the Powerplate? 10 mins is equivalent to an hour's workout.
30 mins a week
For organized sports, you could use specific workouts that benefit that particular sport. For running, I use the plyometrics, and sometimes the core workouts.
does anyone take no xplode? oh man, now thats the good stuff right there
I believe you're getting the two conditions confused.
HYPO-active thyroid is when your thyroid isn't working properly and weight gain is the main symptom.
HYPER-active thyroid is when your thyroid is working overtime and weight loss is the main symptom.
I'm pretty sure I used to have Hyper Thyroidism.. most of the time it ends up with you're thyroid burning itself out and you go Hypo Active afterwards. Keep you're eye on it.
correct, otherwise it will splode
I have been doing P90x as a supplemental to my regular weight training regiment. Basically i do 2-3 trips to the gym a week and 1-2 sessions of P90x.
I really enjoy P90. Its a tough workout but you can go at your own pace. Of course pushing yourself will give you better results but it is no easy task to complete a whole session. In fact, i couldnt complete any of them for the first week or so and I am in vrey good shape. I would recommend it to pretty much everyone except for people that are training for the worlds strongest man competition. Its not gonna get you there but it will trim you up and make you stronger and if you are thin you will develop muscle fairly quickly but again this depends on how hard you work at it like anything else.
Its fantastic for people who play organized sports and really all sports as well (a poster above asked). I play alot of bball and vball and this workout definately beats straight up weight training for that. The plyos are fantastic and will help out for team sports in many ways.
Love P90x.
Alot of celebs swears by Powerplate.
Madonna is Powerplate's #1 fan.

I've tried it at my friend's place, and I'm really considering about getting one myself too
do you use powerplate? ive never even heard of the thing, my infomercial game is so hurting
Yes, all you need to do is "POSE" and let the vibrations do the work.
If it's good enough for Madonna and my friends, it's good enough for me.
I'm still stuck on those 30 min Ronco Rotisserie Cookers. Gotta stop watching Robert Tilton at night.
im gettin a powerplate
It reminds me of the thing with the straps that you see fat people in and it just shakes their belly and they think it's working them out. No idea what they're called but I'm sure someone knows what I'm talking about.
