I've never been hacked.

No virus when i visit. guess it's ran away.

Just because it didn't happen, doesn't mean it won't. I bet I could go over on the street right now with my eyes closed and not get hit, but that doesn't mean I get lucky every time.


Edit to clarify: I know that the chances of anything ever happening to you is slim, but it's still there.

This is definitely from ffxiah. Happened last week on one machine, happened today on another. Same symptoms both times and it was the only site in common. Plus, uh I kind of grew out of the random surfing shit like 15 years ago, been on the internet since I was a grad student back in 1994.

Scragg hosts exclusively image/text ads. He does not permit any other type of ad for obvious reasons. I *highly* doubt it was FFXIAH, especially because your only evidence was "OMFG I VISITED THIS SHIT AND GOT SUM WARNINZ".

Visited with minimal security and got nothing, revisited 10+ times and still no suspicious activity.

The great thing about noscript is that you can easily unblock a site in all of two clicks.

Twice now I've used ffxiclopedia and, after searching for something (one was Yonin, other was Field Manual) I got an extremely obnoxious-slash-unnerving pop up that told me I was AT RISK FOR A VIRUS!!!!!! and instead of loading the ffxiclopedia page I got a My Computer lookalike.

Dunno what it's about, but I'm not thrilled.

Hmm, honestly you may be right. However, my internet use over the past week has been limited to pretty much the BBC News (cricket), NY Times (baseball), BG, FFXIAH and Otherwiki. BBC and NY Times are clean and BG is very well run so it's pretty much got to be one of the other two.

I've seen that on my mom's laptop before. She was freaking out because she thought she had a ton of viruses. Malwarebytes (Malwarebytes.org it's free) cleaned it up. From what I remember of it that virus was fairly harmless (just annoying), but if you actually followed through with the fake-virus scan then you were in trouble.

I haven't had any issues with ffxiah and otherwiki being allowed on noscript, but I reinstalled windows very recently.

Zero-day exploit out there being used in attacks. All you have to do is watch a malicious Flash applet and they've got you.

Might be a good day to add Flashblock to your firefox.
